Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
48 474€ is a lot to ask, but Hexagons and TB is incline, obviously.

Yes, the beginning of the campaign is a disaster and it will obviously fail, now we can only hope they have other plans and won't just abandon the development of the game.

you could also use their own description in the title: "Victorian-fantasy XCOM", and tell them to come here.
I should have trademarked Fantasy XCOM btw :D

Right, I updated the description to their updated one and sent them a private message on Kickstarter about the codex thread.

Victorian XCOM would be something like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen vol 2 anyway, rather than Bloodborne XCOM.

The assets you already have are really impressive, especially given the short length of the project (6 month), but what decided you go to KS that early, now that it is all about having an established fan base ?

To be completely honest - we don't have our own office, we work from our homes, we don't have any financial support anymore, so we grab other jobs to survive. Another months like this would be a huge struggle and won't let us work in the normal tempo. We still believe that we can manage this and reach the funding goal. Thanks to that we will be able to focus entirely on the project.
If not, we will look for alternatives, this project is our entire life, so we won't abadon it that easy.

This actually looks quite nice. Too bad it won't get funded.

Hopefully you guys will still be able to make the game by selling all of your possessions and nearly starving to death. At least that should keep the team motivated to create the best possible game.

Grats for being featured on KS staff picks(or whatever these are called. Maybe these are bot picks now), and on reaching 30%, which catapulted your game into the "might well do it after all" territory. :incline:

Don't forget about all these redundant body parts you could sell to further fund development.

Hey guys!

First of all, thanks to all backers who downloaded the demo for your truly amazing feedback! We didn't expect so many positive comments. Big thank you to all backers, who decided to share their thoughts, ideas and reported bugs they approached! You helped us a lot!

This is what we've managed to make recently:

- fixed a bug with embarking while a hunting party was still getting back from a mission,

- fixed Ether not restoring stamina,

- fixed a problem where you could move a hunter during enemies turn,

- fixed stables cost not hiding after starting construction,

- small rebalance,

- added lamp item to the build,

Download the demo here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/jmta6ra76mianmb/Alder's Blood early demo.rar?dl=0

EDIT :
Guys! We have approached a bug and we cannot edit our update. Here's the link with a fixed demo: http://www.indiedb.com/games/alders-blood/downloads/alders-blood-playable-demo
Sorry!

If something is not clear, let us know in the comment section or drop us a line at info@shockworkgames.com

Thank you!

By the way I liked what I've played of the demo.
The combat system is somewhat simple because about any action ends the character's acting for current turn. You don't have many weapons to choose from (two per class at the beginning, maybe some more I haven't unlocked) but at least they are different. The skill trees are not available in the demo and you only have a basic range of skills. What's really cool is how enemies will often inflict various afflictions to your dudes.
However overall resource management is quite fun. Various upgrades, as well as various combat items (healing items, traps) are all expensive. Besides you only have 4 characters and you can send 2 (then 3 after buying stables) to offered missions, and between the injured ones and the ones already on the way to another mission you're quickly overworked and send half-dead guys to missions, and you lose the mission, and that's when you actually have guys to send.

So, how do you win, then? Sounds like a downwards spiral

Losing a mission is not the end of the game, some (all?) missions are "optional", I think you win or lose some influence on diverse territories and that sort of things.
One mission is about etablishing an outpost on a new territory for example.

Hey guys!

First of all, thank you for your support. You were amazing all the time, helping us with your kind words or by spreading the word about our project and, of course, by supporting us on Kickstarter. We’ve got to say that we are truly amazed that Alder's Blood have so many committed fans and such a great community. We are glad that you enjoy our demo. Please, stay with us, as we are not giving up!

Possible re-launch
Well, we did many mistakes and we've definitely learned a valuable lesson. We should not rush our Kickstarter campaign... The demo should be available from the day one of Kickstarter...We should... Exactly. We should do many other things and provide a backup plan. But Alder's Blood - the game itself - is not a problem of our campaign and we know it. We know that it deserves to finally see the daylight and the re-launch is a possible option. When? We don't know. Firstly, we would need couple of weeks to prepare ourselves.

Publishers
We are currently talking with game publishers. Some of them gained global recognition years ago by delivering popular, quality games. On the other hand, there are also a couple of names from Poland interested in our game. The main problem is that Alder's Blood is our debut and it needs some budget to be fully polished, so it is really hard to gain publisher's trust at this point. Pumping lots of money in a studio with no "portfolio" is a risk. So guys, please, keep your fingers crossed!

Working "after hours"
This is definitely the worst possible option for us. Developing can face a massive delay – we are talking even about couple of years. This option will also be the most stressful one, as we will have to find regular jobs, be committed to work schedule and after a long day – sitting down and focusing on our project called Alder’s Blood. We cannot promise that we will be able to do that, due to physical and mental capabilities.

"Reducing" the scale of Alder's Blood
This is a safer, but also a risky option. We could reduce the scale of Alder's Blood and make it a much smaller game, which will take us a couple of months to develop. We would need less money to finish our project. So, we’ve got this question for you guys: would you play Alder's Blood, if it will be much smaller than you expected? Maybe you have some ideas how we can reduce its scale?

Early access
Another, quite reasonable option for our situation is called Early Access. We are currently inside creative process; we decide what we are able to do before hitting this milestone. Our approach to Early Access will provide you with updates, but still - without funding, providing you a new game feature one or two weeks can be very hard for our team.

Stay with us
We are canceling the campaign, but we are not saying "goodbye". Please, join us on Steam, Discord, Facebook, Twitter and we will be in touch with you all the time, informing you about everything.

We will do our best to make Alder's Blood happen.

Thank you once again guys!
