I finished it.
Meh?
Truth be told I'm kinda conflicted in my feelings. Gameplay wise it's total shit and too easily cheesed early on by just using game mechanics as intended, and the gameplay itself is too disorderly and confused to be fun.
Story is well written and relatively enjoyable, but has too little gameplay. What little gameplay there is, is often poor. Mid to mid-late game is just padding ontop of padding in a game that needs none to succeed. The way how Henry escalated from pissboy to lord in 20 minutes hurt it pretty bad in my opinion. The final twist is pretty weak too. Spoiler in spoiler.
Radzig is your dad.

The game ended on a disappointing note IMO and it feels rushed and unfinished. Maybe the DLC will improve it but I'm not holding out hope. The game wasn't as dumb fun as Elex was last year and doesn't have enough C&C or interesting quests to be that good of an RPG. I think everything good had too much pointless shit, bad decisions or padding in between for the good to actually shine.

Some folks in this thread even told me to ''artificially'' limit myself to make the game more difficult
:retarded:

No one told you to artificially limit yourself. They told you that cheesing the AI and then bitching about it was a) annoying and b) stupid.

If you don't like it, don't do it.

Or do it, but shut the fuck up about it.

You know, the thread would probably be filled with a lot more people posting their complaints and/or experience with bugs if we weren't constantly calling you out for your incessant butthurt rambling about something that's almost a non-issue.

Didn't kill him. Just knocked him out and stole the ring. Might have tried to buy it if he was awake.

$10 million is probably nothing to this guy. He wanted some media exposure, Vavra had a good looking property, an excellent track record and he was a motivated seller. Seems like the big financier is simply a good investor as he’s likely made a killing here.
Eh, I think the games industry is a pretty big deal now. Not as big as the movie industry, but hundreds of millions can be made from a single title.

Now consider how much a company like that would sell for.

Obviously worst case scenario is him selling his shares off to EA, Activision or Ubisoft. No more freedom of what to develop and forced diversity for the studio/games, I can see Vávra bailing. At least now he'll have enough money from the earnings he made from KCD to start a new studio and have full ownership.

Are the patches retroactive, or should i just wait until it's patched more before I start?
Haven't had any issues with the patches. My game updates and the saves still work.

I was just wondering if they change anything major. I don't want to get 30 hours in only to find something or someone vital broke before the Henry even got out of bed.

The video game industry is larger than the music and movie industries combined.... Has been for years.

Is there any word on the timeline for DLC or the sequel?

Sequel? You mean KCD2? In a few years?

The first DLC maybe in a few months.

Patching will not affect saves.

Just wait a while, game is pretty smooth already bugs-wise but it seems the late-game balance is off. I know they made some last-minute changes to the armor/weapon balance, it probably backfired. Not enough testing.

Knowing their gameplay designer he'll want to have it adjusted as soon as possible. These people are genuine perfectionists, they'll have the game running like a clockwork in a few weeks time.

This is not actually true, but a lot of people think it is because the comparisons that usually get tossed around are misleading. Total global box office last year was $40 billion according to comscore. That’s about half the size of total gaming revenue (including console hardware sales and every piece of media Sony and Microsoft sell on their consoles). So yeah, the total gaming market is bigger than the movie tickets market.

But only counting movie tickets doesn’t give you the full picture as theatres account for less than half of the revenue from the average film; we count digital distribution for games, why not movies? When you add in DVDs, streaming rights, cable licensing, etc... film is bigger. Add in pornography (hey, creepy Japanese hentai games are included in the video game figure, as are online/mobile only games, so why not let film have porn?) and it’s larger still.

In two or three years, games will be undisputably larger by any metric. We’re not there yet, though.

^This is really great. I feel the slowdown isn't necessary tho. I don't get what the point is here - if they slowed down the combat right at the moment you should perfect-block yeah, I'd understand. But the slowdown happens when you already strike afaik?

That duel is not very practical,,he must have low stats. Most of my enemy die when i hit them on the weapon aka they try to block and don't have shields. It is ridiculous. Also combos are useless,if you have a problem with an enemy just push in him for struggle animation and after you win the struggle hit him on the head.

Bullshit. Combined revenues were less than $50B for music and movies. 116B for games in the same period. It's not even close.

Where in the world do you get that $50 billion figure?

Do I have to explain this again? Yes, worldwide box office was $40 billion last year. That’s likely where you get that $50 billion number when you add in some part of the music business (probably just album sales). But box office, meaning movie tickets, is only one part of the monetization equation—it’s like only counting sales of physical video games, not digital downloads, or only PC and not console. The point is that there are lots of other ways people consume movies outside of theaters (this should go without saying). You’re using the most inclusive number for games—you better believe that $116 billion includes subscriptions, in-game purchases, etc...—and the most exclusive number for film, so that $50 billion figure is not an apples to apples comparison.

So what else is there? DVD sales are still an $18-$20 billion business worldwide. Video on demand is $21 billion.

https://www.statista.com/outlook/201/100/video-on-demand/worldwide#

That gets us to $80 billion and we haven’t even covered streaming/TV rights. This is harder to break down as we don’t know what’s film and what’s TV and I’m too lazy to go over the 10-ks from the major studios, but Netflix alone is making more than $40 billion a year in revenue. Say half of that is from film, we’re at $100 billion, that’s nearly over the top without even touching the insanely lucrative non-streaming licensing deals.

What about music? Touring alone generated $5.6 billion worldwide last year.
https://www.statista.com/statistics/380120/global-music-tour-gross-revenues/

In 2016, worldwide streaming music generated over $15 billion and it’s grown like a weed since then. That’s over $20 billion from music without even touching digital downloads or CDs.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.th...oint-for-music-industry-with-revenues-of-15bn

So no, games still aren’t quite bigger than movies and music. Not yet.

No I got 50B from industry revenue reporting, from MPAA, RIAA and counterparts.

You are then trying to lump in ancillary businesses. Its not close Chum.
