In a Lovecraftian game, only non-Euclidean cursing is acceptable. :obviously:

It's self-immolation for me. My dream of a similar game just went down in a pool of tears.

Looks really good. Like finally somebody stopped ten seconds to think of how to do it properly. Really good. I actually can't wait for this it is going to be smashing.

Computer industry has waited many years for people to figure out this could be a really good genre if done properly.

Small update :
They released another version of the beta which could work on your system if the previous one didn't.

The full update (without the links) :
Greetings Downloaders of the Blackened Data!

First of all we want to thank you for all your feedback on the demo. It was priceless and it is a real privilege to see that the vision we have for Stygian lives up to your expectations. All honored. Too much dopamine and serotonin running in the veins these days. Thanks a lot for these perfect drugs of the mother nature!

A few hours before the backer demo release

We'd like to introduce the version 2 of the backer demo to you. For the ones who had already played it without problems it does not promise more. For the ones who had encountered eldritch enigmas of antiquity the installer may especially help.

You can find the Windows and MacOS versions here.

For our Linux using cult brethren, we'd like to state that we are not content with our tests with the Linux build (since a lot of different operating systems exist on that territory and we've been planning to concentrate on Linux version near the launch of the game), it seems we won't be able to share the Linux demo with you in the near future in order to preserve your initial experience with the game. We'll guarantee a smooth release for Linux on Stygian's launch but for now please be forgiving and don't take the heads of our messengers.

Both versions are open to all of our backers so you can try different operating systems if a particular one does not work as expected. Please keep in mind that the Windows version is the most stable one, followed by MacOS.

The blackened data is running through your hard drives now. Please bear in mind that Cultic Games takes no responsibility for the indoctrination videos that your computer plays while you're asleep. They are utter fabrications of your feeble minds.

Until we meet again, sleep well.

Team Cultic

Looks like they sped up the combat animations since the first video, but the walking animation could still use a boost.

Do we have a release date?

As far as I know just sometime 2018. I'm willing to wait awhile if they really nail this release. Really hope they decide to rework the bank section and that it's not indicative of how "dungeon" play will be handled throughout the game.

Yo Scrawled is this the same as the backer demo or a new, improved build?

Hello Codexians!

The Publisher Demo, as a finalized product, contains exactly the same material as in the Backer Demo. It simply enhances system stability while upgrading game playability and interaction features. Only a slicker, smoother and for lack of a better word: "fine(r) tuned" game, so there's no difference between versions in terms of the player experience provided.

Yeah, it's been three weeks of this. Going to be awfully silly if it's not out within the first week of December.
