Alright, beat the Inquisitor on my first try this time. And even got Daimon soon after. I'm level 83. I'll farm for level 3 BBI weapons and armor now. Some enemies are still a tough nut to crack, mostly due to insane HP. I'm looking at you, Elder Ogre.

Elder Ogres are pretty easy if you have lightning enchant running and fulmination/the status debuff spell on a pawn. I don't think I even lose any HP to them and I'm 30 levels below you.

Guys I have an extra Dragons Dogma Steam Key I bought to support the developer (and maybe get a DD2 madr) but I want a Dragons Dogam GOG key, if anybody is willing to trade I would be more than happy to do the switch

Beat Daimon the second time, that's a wrap. The biggest issue with BBI is the random loot system. It took me quite a while to get a decent level 2 dagger. That pawns get raped a lot is a minor annoyance by comparison. Overall I'd still rate it higher than the base game because it is more challenging.

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Minor Patch Now Available [12/18/17]

They're masterworks all, you can't go wrong.

A new, minor patch has been released today for Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen that addresses the following:

【Japanese input error fix】
When typing in Japanese text while in full screen mode, users were not able to see before they converted to kanji, katakana, etc. This has been fixed.

【Ability Bug Fix - Inflection】
Fixed a bug on the ability, “Inflection” in which it was originally doubling damage instead of halving damage in certain situations. Inflection now appropriately halves damage.

【Quest Bug fix】
A rare bug originally occurred in which the quest "Trappings of Evil" was made unavailable if a user upgraded and equipped specific gear. This fix will now allow players who own the upgraded version of that gear to take on the quest.

Best Regards,

And Capcom is only 56 months late in fixing the Inflection bug introduced with the release of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen on PS3 in April 2013. :happytrollboy:

In the eviction quest in Grand Soren the running kid got stuck on a roof, what can I do? or just forget that quest?

You have to talk to him on that roof to continue the quest.

Really? How they fuck do you get there?

Joking aside if you can't figure out how to jump up there as a melee class or something there is a barrel relatively close by in the enclosed stairs leading to the noble quarter.

With the dagger core skill Double Vault and mage's/sorcerer's Levitate it's pretty simple. I have no idea if you can get there without one of those. E: I think you can climb that house from one side where there's a part of the roof which is somewhat lower.

You can most assuredly get on the rooftops with a melee class, I've done it with Mystic Knight. If you're talking the roofs out in the big field, you can just do a running jump from the hilltop for one set of houses and for the other there's a barrel or something next to one of them that allows you to climb up. If you're talking the rooftops in the main city area, there's a ladder somewhere you can climb up. It's in one of the alleyways, I think the one that leads out behind the tavern? Either way you should be able to get up to that kid somehow. There are some treasure chests on the rooftops in the main city too, so either way you might as well go check it out for the chests.

Yeah, just checked. There are are couple of ways to get there without Double Vault/Levitate.
Simplest would be to jump and grab onto the ledge of the small shed at the eastern side of the house just south of the one where the boy should be on. There are also plenty of barrels around which you can use. You could also jump onto another roof from just outside the pawn guild or you could climb the house of the smithy where you get the Reaper's Scorn quest and jump down from there..

I'm done with all Souls, Nier, Nioh, so I guess it's time I start playing this. Anything important I should know before I start? What I mean, any classes to avoid that make the game boring, any big mistakes somebody else did? Thinking about playing a mage.

Don't expect this to be like Dark Souls. It's quite different, but a great game in its own right.

Try all vocations whenever you feel like it (augments carry over between them), use and experiment with items, don't spoil your first playthrough by using a wiki too much; everything you might miss can be easily rectified in ng+. Don't start with hard difficulty! It makes the early game, which isn't that easy to begin with, even harder, and you'll be overpowered and filthy rich even earlier. If you feel like the game's too easy, consider playing with your main pawn only or even solo.

Have fun and keep us posted. :)

^This. Don't touch wiki on your first go. The exploration in this game is fantastic.

I was so blown away how good the game is. By this point it's almost a rule for me that whenever I play a Japanese game that's NOT anime I'm having a blast of my life. Too bad it's so rare.

Not sure mage is best to start. Sure they are usefull. Particularly Sorcerors have some big guns and work well with other Sorc pawns, with which they can synchro-cast the big spells. But cast time of the big spells is long and often you need to avoid engagement. You end up using staff autoattack a lot (which admittedly can be very potent if infused with holy, but also rather boring).

My favoutite is Warrior for the awesome staggers and knockdowns in a wide radius even on basic autoattacks. Also like Assasin (both ranged and close combat, including sword & shield, good for climbing, high attack stat growth, nice powder explosion trick which staggers and knocks down opponents... and absolutely devastates cursed dragons). Strider is good for climbing large enemies and decent with a bow. Ranger rules at bow combat. Magic Knight is sort of interesting if you're into that playstyle (parry-counter, although he knows some more tricks as well). Magic Archer is good for combat in tight spaces and exploiting enemy weaknesses. Also has a nice climbing trick.

Yeah, this game getting compared to Dark Souls gameplay wise on release was utterly bizarre. If anything its gameplay is something like a third person Diablo...something like a Diablo Devil May Cry mix . Only instead of one simple normal you've got a light and heavy attack with some simple combos. Special moves purely use meter as opposed to having cool downs being part of the equation. Special moves use a universal fatigue system along the lines of something like Arcanum. And then there's the whole being able to grab enemy's to hold down or throw with the smaller ones, and climb on the bigger ones.

I'd say maybe even when you don't feel like it, vocation switching is pretty much a must since it's the only way to get certain Augments in the game.

I'd also say just take all "Kill X number of whatever" board quest you see before doing an escort mission or just going somewhere. Don't worry about going out of your way to do them, they're the type of thing you can finish off by just going about doing other things. But do do an escort mission and finish off some board quest along the way before making your way to Gran Soren. If you beeline it right to Gran Soren the first dungeon can be a bit of a bitch...also once you do what you came there to do just get out of that dungeon.

All 9 vocations are fun to play. At the start, you choose between fighter, mage, and strider, but you can change vocations via the innkeeper in Gran Soren (or the person who stands outside the Bitterblack Isle expansion dungeon). Even though I enjoy playing as a mage/sorcerer, I'd recommend against it for a first playthrough, since you'll miss out on the melee combat and climbing mechanics. Although you'll want to avoid spoilers, I recommend looking at information about Pawn Inclinations, because these are explained only poorly within the game, and they're vital to the efficacy of your Main Pawn and support Pawns.

Man warrior is fun in dragons dogma online - I really hope they carry over some of the changes to 2 if that ever becomes a thing.

Dragon's Dogma Online release date for PC:

July 2018
| Worldwide

Q. What measures are you taking to make PC Online profitable and grow?

A. Because growth in the PC market has slowed, we are prioritizing growth of Consumer and Mobile.
We aim to make PC Online profitable by maintaining sales for Dragon’s Dogma Online and Monster Hunter Frontier, while implementing measures such as cost control.

My personal take on this is that

Holy shit they are actually releasing DDO in west ? What are they doing ? Don't they realize they can earn money with that, Capcom hates money it is icky.

BTW DDO is actually good single player game from what i heard as much as DD was. If you liked DD for its combat and wacky story then this is basically DD2.

Just don't expect upgrade over DD. It is more of the same.
