Since attributes > all , is it worth to wait until lvl7 and dump everything on INT to take the "Attribute" skill (+1 attribute point /level) as early as possible? I was hoping to find a laz0r and start killing some stuff around level 7-8 but I guess non-combat quests carry you past 10 easily?

I would say it's worth it because you also need that Int level for rank 3 Animal Trophy skill which gets you lots of free Elex.
Yeah, 1 Skill Point for 10 Attribute Points is actually a good trade-off in the early game, since you'll get that high Intelligence anyway.

I miss your attacks changing with higher skill in weapons. But I just realised that if you carry a shield, sword attacks become faster and more accurate due to quicker and better animations for one handed with shield. Like, first strike is quick vertical slash. Sword&shield seems like a to-go combo for clearing map of all living things for loot.

So after 30h, I'm lvl 17 and it seems I can kill just about anything without much difficulty, trolls, not-deathclaws, not-shadowbeasts, whathaveyou (playing on Normal)!
Still have to explore Outlaw and Cleric territory and still factionless, since they're all meh.

I want to be stronk independent Übermensch, who don't need no faction, dammit! :argh:

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I just want the seperate inventory categories to appear in trade window instead of all non-weapon/armor items being shoved into one single screen. Is that too much to ask?

Don't invest into two handed weapons. They're absolute shit, the animations are totally fucked and don't work properly, and powerful attacks (the only ones that matter) are GOTTA GO SLOW and it's basically trash. Looks fucking great though. The light reflecting off of my Warrior's Sword is really baller.
Is the quest "The Abessa Dispute" bugged for anyone else? I can't close it and there are no markers, and I've talked to everyone I can see.

Like I said, if they are with you, it doesn't matter. They don't retaliate.
Not exactly sure what you mean by "team" here. Your companion? Because that's not what I'm talking about.

Just had a merchant who got attacked by reavers. Accidentally hit him 3 or 4 times, almost killed him at the end, but once every reaper was dead I just sheathed my weapon and he went on to live happily ever after.

I don't think you are understanding how it works.

When a quest assigns a team to you, maybe to escort the NPC's, then they become part of your team. Then no matter what you do in combat, they won't attack you.

A merchant isn't part of your team. It's just a neutral NPC like any other NPC that won't attack you (even from your own faction). Those NPC's WILL attack you if you attack them.

Also, merchant isn't hard to kill, will not really start hunting you since most enemies just flee instead of fight (especially when their health is low). Not to mention, there wasn't anyone around to fight for that merchant.

While we're at it, you are most like talking about that merchant who was surrounded by the Reavers near a Cleric shrine, right? That quest is so fucking bugged, I reloaded it multiple times to try different things. You can actually kill all reavers standing around the "boss reaver" who is talking to the merchant. Just lure them one by one hitting them with a sword and then trigger the final boss guy for easy win without endangering the merchant.

That's why you play the game on ultra and that's the difficulty it was designed for. It's like one of the 3 golden rules of Elex:

1. Play on ultra
2. Don't abuse chemistry for dirty elexite (until they patch it)
3. Don't be a black hole / "insert aoe knockdown here" spamming faggot (until they patch it)

Quoting Bane or Josh Sawyer - "The victory has defeated you".

Oh yes, because dealing with the super-clunky combat and the janky as shit controls in a game where the enemy can soak up several hundred shots while staring at you is so much fun.

Ultra doesn't even make things hard, it just makes things take longer, and spending several minutes hacking away at someone just to create some artificial sense of "difficulty" sounds like something someone would do if they're legitimately autistic.

Saying it was "designed for ultra" is beyond retarded. It's clear that Elex wasn't designed for anything. There's not even an increase in risk vs. reward or anything with higher difficulties, there's just a higher bloat of shit, meaning they insta-kill you faster in a game where dodging is hilariously badly made, and soak up more hits in a game where they already soak up hit after hit in a way that makes absolutely no difference other than making combat take longer for no reason.

You're asking for UI design that makes sense? Yes, that is apparently too much to ask. You're saying you don't enjoy scrolling through every-every-fucking-thing, from crafting components to pure trash to actual codex entries/sound recordnings/random letters, just to sell shit? Good heavens, who could've thought?

While looking for patch info and bugfixes for my own issues, I came across people that mentioned having problems with The Abessa Dispute, so no, you're not alone.

Just played for two hours. The introduction doesn't seem to make much sense. Still, I really like the game so far. Exploration is interesting right from the beginning and it's the first new game in years where I started to take notes for the lore. It's obvious that the game was released a bit too early but so far it's probably one of the best 3 games from PB if the impression lasts.

And the jetpack is actually fun and a feature. The world is designed with the jetpack in mind. At first I thought they just wanted to avoid incorporating climbing animations.

Fun fact: the English translation can divert quite significally from the original German. It seems to be actually better than the original writing, too.

So how do you get everywhere, do you just level up every environmental protection skill in the list or is there armor with protection from frost and fire? I only seen gas mask protecting from poison. And how much protection do you need?
I still haven't seen anywhere worth going that involved fire or ice. Only radiation and poison. Ice and fire (and radiation) seem to act more like concrete barriers.

There's a Ring of Protection (...somewhere, I found it in some random-ass area in Edan, around the early areas, if I recall correctly, only saw it because I had the Sunglasses on) that gives +10 to all resistances, and then there's the Mask that gives +25 Radiation and +25 Poison resistance. Then there's a Chem for each. In my experience, you should be fine with just the Mask and the Chems and 1 rank in Poison/Radiation for most areas, provided you don't stick around for too long.

Also, there's the Chem that gives +100 HP - that works extremely well for simply surviving a while longer in areas of fire/cold.

Until you have at least the Mask and the first ranks of Poison and Radiation resistance, I'd stay away from all areas with Radiation/Poison. You can usually run in there and grab everything and then run back out and heal, but it's not recommended, it's simply not worth it, 9 times out of 10. The fact that so little gear in the game seems to matter is pretty shitty. Lots of berserker gear could've given small bonuses to Cold Resistance or something, and the basic outlaw hat could've given +5 Heat Resistance, and shit like that - and Cleric helmets could've given the effects of the Sunglasses. But nope, sunglasses on 100% of the time is the deelio here. It's double infuriating since I should very obviously be able to wear the gas mask, sunglasses and a hood at the same time. Fuck, sunglasses should be able to be combined with almost all other headgear.

The fucking Legate Helmet for Clerics is a fucking closed helmet with a glass visor and what looks like a separate air supply, but does it protect against poison even a little? Of course not. Piddly gas mask over the mouth? +25!

Anyway, if you can find the ring (sorry, I really should've noted down where I find awesome shit...), 1 Protection Rank + Ring of Protection + Gas Mask + Chem will allow you to stay in Poison or Radiation for extended periods of time. For everything else, take a +100 HP chem and run in there. Remember to check the pits of convertors for Elex, if you need some.

In addition to the chems for resistance, like leadbelly for radiation, you can also cook food that boosts your resistance dramatically. There’s a recipe for wood lice soup (wood lice something at any rate), which you can get ingredients for by killing the little 2xp insect things that are all over Tavar. I find that plus the gas mask is all I need, sometimes a dose of leadbelly too if the radiation is really strong like the small island just south of the Tavar lighthouse.

. You should cliff dive and swim out to get a powerful ring—I think it’s +10 strength, which is really useful when you get your stats above 60.

Around levels 16-18 I got strong enough to explore all over and stumbled on some awesome legendary stuff. Executioner plasma rifle on top of the tower with staircase a little northeast of the fort, the furnace flamethrower on second story of Hort maintenance, insanely overpowered cleric’s amulet for psi regeneration, and a bunch of melee weapons that are either worse than my +3 regent sword or have stat requirements over 80 or even 90.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
I finally have the ability to equip the two handed sword that deals fire damage, that I found very early in the game. Very nice. It is good to see enemies melt. I still need to get the timing right. I've become used to one handed swords and a shield. I upgraded my bow and ranged combat ability. I can now cheese a trolls and cyclopes. I still die if I'm not careful, though. I wated all my money on ELEX drinks. It makes a huge difference.

Been going around, doing faction quests. After 28 hours, I thought I could finally enter the cleric stronghold, but they won't let me in. No matter what happens, this unfriendliness will lead to their demise, after I have used them for all exp, of course.

Honestly, I can see why some people don't like the game. It's an acquired taste. Me? I'm having fun. The part I like the most is exploration. I don't have much to say about combat. This studio has games with better combat, but I don't hate it.

I need to take a break for now. In two days, I have spent 13 hours on the game. Before that, I didn't play it for two days. ELEX is like a drug for me.

Also, after 28 hours, my faith in ELEX was rewarded.

A tip: Those big converter thingies, go up on their roof. They have a lot of useful stuff.
A question: Should I wait as long as I can before joining a faction?

Beserkers are hippy fuck boy faggots that are constantly gettin their shit pushed in by the Chad Albs.
There's nothing Chad about being an introvert drug addict trying to act Chad with steroids.

I'm able to join the Berserkers, I have just been doing other stuff before I fully commit.
It's super easy to join the other factions, you only need to do 1/5th of the quests for the others than you do for Berserkers.

There are definitely some quests that become unfinishable and are cancelled when you join a faction, but most (all?) seem to be related to actually joining another faction, as well as quests from having joined another faction.

What pisses me off a bit is how apparently, the Clerics called up the Berserkers when I joined and told them about that snazzy ex-Alb motherfucker that just joined them, and told the berserkers to fuck off, because word travels absurdly fast in Magalan.

Before I started playing and saw how strong the dichotomy was (tritonomy?), I was hoping I'd be able to be a high-tech spellslinger, but apparently, that's haram, and the second you join a faction, the entire world knows that you're a part of that faction, for some reason. I want to magically enchant my lasgun to shoot condensed beams of righteous sunlight and fire fueled by a number of serialized scavenged car batteries carried around my waist or on my back, dammit.
Berserkers are best faction. Clericucks need not apply.
Berserkers are fucking luddite hippies that gets their shit pushed in by everyone else who isn't a mud-farming sape. The Clerics might be retard cultists, but at least they've got long-term plans and you won't die in child birth because penicillin is haram. The Clerics aren't opposed to restoring Magalan such as by using the hearts, but the 'zerks are opposed to using any technology more advanced than covering your spears in human waste.
do you guys have a triangle constantly present in the right corner of the screen as if loading?
It's apparently a bug that makes the saving thing never go away and prevents you from saving.

Tell me, do you have non-standard letters in your Windows User? Because that apparently fucks it up, because apparently the guys that comes from the land of Ö's and Ü's and ß's didn't consider that possibility when making their fucking game.

Go to the install directory \ELEX\data\ini.
Open mount_packed.xml.
Find PhysicalPath="$(savedgames)/ELEX/SaveGames".
Change to PhysicalPath="$(localappdata)/ELEX/SaveGames".
Go to \AppData\Local\ELEX\.
Create a new folder named \SaveGames\.

Also, just because Piranha Bytes cannot get enough of being incompetent, there's a 100 save limit in the game. If you create more than 100 saves, the game will simply stop saving.

Homing missiles with level 3 Warbow .....come here you tech lovers!
Not going to lie; the idea of homing arrows appeals enormously to me, even though I cannot imagine that it'll be better than Clerical AoE:s. If I ever get to finish this playthrough and get around to another one, I'm definitely going full-on berserker.

Shadenuat there's chems and food that also give heat/cold/rad/poison resist.

My go to strat so far is to just put on the gas mask + eat the food + equip relevant rings, usually gives me a long enough time to pull all the relevant loot from specific areas.

Eventually I guess you could get the resist skills as skill/points and stats are basically infinite with elex pots.
