Zork and Rogue were the first two computer games I ever played.

Why Unity? It's the sappest of the sap, you can code a better engine in two days blindfolded with a single hand and ten liters of coffee. Will you build incline upon decline?

Here we go again ... HEY GUIZE I AM REPLACING UNITY ENGINE WITH SOME OF MY OWN CODE IT RULEZ IT WILL HAVE MAXED OUT BLOOM

Could PLUGH use these?

There is already one shit for a game using those assets, please don't encourage another.

Not a huge fan of these types, but you do you, Cleve.

Don't want to sound like hipster but I don't think this will come out as a genre. Maybe "walking simulator fantasy explorer" etc.

People will have to decide if it is good for what it is.

The more I think about it the more I think traditional combat would just suck. Maybe some specialised format but FPS shooter would probably not be it for this game. The emphasis would be on exploration, discovery and problem solving. I actually think HALF-LIFE with combat removed is a good example of this.

If HALF-LIFE is the model, you could probably do some tension segments like that bit where you have to crouch around that monster in a tanker. Even maybe something like the very beginning parts off Cthulthu: Dark Corner of the Earth, but only if you're interested in pushing the game just a bit towards horror.
...But if you are, you could probably bump up release to Oct 31st.

It was actually more fun just hiding and using stealth in CDCOTE than blasting away in shooters. I also really liked it where if you were stupid enough to just run towards a crowd firing at them you would be easily cut down as you would expect in real life.

Please, let there be mazes. I know some people hate them, but I keep playing Daedalus 3.2 and last week finished Memoria - getting lost in the labyrinthic forest, with its beautifuly painted landscapes and exquisite designed sounds was one of the best experiences I've ever had with a videogame. Seriously, sometimes I even purposely chose the wrong path just to stay longer there*.
The way you're describing Plugh sounds perfectly fiting for this kind of challenge. It's miles beyond a 'walking simulator', it's a pure game. The :obviously: audience Golden Era seeks surely will love something like that.
*Watching Bowie in offensively tight pants kidnapping a baby and trying to seduce a teenager when I was a child may have had severe lasting consequences in my gaming habits.

That cave is pretty amazing looking but it is not modular. It is all one piece. I have something that looks nearly as good you can snap together in different configurations.

I have to say this is disappointing. Why make a non-rpg? You should probably make it as games with no content seem to have a large chance of become a hipster hit. I love Grimoire and will prepurchase any rpg game you make, but I have no interest in non-rpgs or games with no content.

It would be great if the premise of the game was that you are searching for Grimoire's manual.

That would make it unrealistic as it is impossible to find the manual.

...and when (if) it ever surfaces, it will be wrong anyway, and the clown who wrote it will make excuses that are so laughable that it was almost worth the wait.

Gotta say, the thing that would kill this game for me is if it was on schedule.

I'm betting $100 to $1 that this will not come out in 2017.
