One of my best friends committed suicide. And I can tell you that in most cases it's something that has to do with illness, real physical illness, and there is nothing other people can do about it. First he could no longer move his leg, but did not go to the doctor, until he was walking on crutches and it took 45 minutes to walk down the stairs to a store in the same street. Then he started seeing badly and at some point sometimes lost control of his sphincter. I don't know to this day what he got, he became so morose and owed me a lot of money, that we broke off contact about 1 year before his departure. But one of the last things he told me on the phone was that he was in a wheelchair and I could also deduce that the was almost blind. I later learned that he jumped from a window a few days before his 30th birthday.

I was under the clear impression that it is almost always a mental issue leading to suicide, not a physical one. Almost every case I ever heard was about people with no physical issues. Whether people really commit suicide or not is something really basic in their mind, in their survival instinct. Some basically just are more likely to do it under the right circumstances, while others will never do it under and any circumstance.

He was from Greece but studying in Germany? I guess that made him in his early 20s right, being in uni?

The signs of depression were obviously there, but the suicidal part wasn't apparent. In hindsight and reading his farewell posts though it seems obvious. He needed meds for a while to restore hormonal/chem imbalance in his brain, could have saved him.

If anyone else is in a same boat get some help (by that I mean see a shrink). Meds do work, and oft times in healthy individuals the problem is temporary.

I saw it on another forum, fuckedcompany.com forums, before I even heard of arcanum. There were pics of him and also the girl (who was plain and looked like a serious bitch) and a memorial from his parents and all that. I just assumed everyone knew. I searched online when I saw he was a poster here but everything was deleted by then. And no, not trolling this is all 100% true.

Basically he talked to this girl online, she agreed to meet him and he traveled somewhere far like canada or something, and she met him at the door and told him she did not want to see him and didn't like him. then he killed himself, either there or soon after he came home.

Cherchez la femme, obviously. How could've we been so naive as to assume he started drinking heavily and spiraled into such depression just on his own/because of the roids. Poor guy, got really unlucky as love really hurts in that 20-25 year range, I too have been in a such a near suicidal state because of a womyn. It's important to have real friends that talk you out of stupid things in such a situation, too bad he was probably alone as a dog.
