Looks like I have the same error here (Ubuntu 16.04 & Windows Steam version via Wine)

Are you using a 64-bit prefix? I've got it running in a 32-bit prefix under Arch using the latest development version of Wine (not staging). Unfortunately it has no sound! I'll have to play around some more.

It did crash when I doubleclicked a portrait, so I won't be doing that again.

I'm supposed to be working DAMMIT! How can I work when I'm trying to debug Cleve's game so I can play it?

Yes 64 bit, the game won't install. Got it loading under Wine but it doesn't reach the main menu because of a MIDI related error.

I guess itś better to wait for Windows users "to iron out a few bugs" before putting a lot of time/effort into getting it to run on Linux. ;)

Not complaining too much: paying € 33,29 for all the lulz I got out of the Grimoire thread is not a lot IMO :)

It represents a failure to identify the creature. The time to criticise stuff we've known about for years was years ago.
