There is a slightly longer video available and it seems that trolls are the main enemies we will encounter (either green or brown):

Do you take news reports as an accurate portrayal of everyday life?

The keyword here is "seems". If after 2 hours of playing we're fighting trolls again and again it doesn't bode too well. We see 2 playthroughs made by 2 different people with exactly the same encounters. Not only the game seems linear, opponents are also not very varied. There are kobolds, trolls (mainly trolls), human bandits, spiders and hounds/wolves. So 5 different opponents after over 2 hours of playing, I would think that if the game really had over 100 monster types we would have seen more variety even after 2 hours. The fact remains that even if after 3 hours we would get different opponents to fight, fighting the same ones for 2 hours can get boring, especially with a RTwP combat system where there's not much room for tactics.

Yes, this game, which again is an adaptation of an existing pen-and-paper module which you can download and read right now and see exactly what enemies it will have, will actually only have trolls. In the endgame when you're supposed to be facing off against the faerie queen and her minions, they'll replace them with trolls. Trolls everywhere.

You do understand that what people are playing is only a small part of the game, right? It is all they made so they could demo it to others. Of course everyone is going to have same quests and same enemies as that is all there is at the moment. Now that KS is done, they are going to implement more content. Wait until early next year when they plan to release the beta to see more content and more quests.

That obviously can't be true! Games take one second to make; the only reason why they are developed for longer is as a form of highly sadistic torture!

5 enemy types in 2 hours of gameplay.
In kickstarter campaign they said there is going to be 100+ types of monsters and 40+ hours of gamepaly.
Let's do the math:
100 types of monsters = 5 types of monsters * 20.
2 hours of gameplay * 20 = 40 hours of gameplay.
So we have 100 types of monsters in 40 hours of gameplay, just as promised in the campaign.
Coincidence? I don'th think so.

Yes, this game, [...], will actually only have trolls.
Yeah, after 2 and a half hours trolls will suddenly disappear and we will suddenly see 95 new monster types. /hyperbole mode off (I can do it too)

Don't put words into my mouth, I never said that it will only have trolls. I said that it seems that trolls will be our main enemy. From the start encounters seem artificial and uninspired and troll being the most common enemy is the worst choice possible since they're just tanks who can only attack with their fists, how interesting . And like I said, fighting the same enemies for 2 hours straight gets boring fast. Look at Fallout or Arcanum how it should be done. Even Diablo has more variety even after ONE hour, enemies have different resistances and abilities.
You do understand that what people are playing is only a small part of the game, right?
No shit Sherlock. I'm referring to their "it will have over 100 monster types" and then after two and a half ours we only see 5 types (so less than 5% of all enemy types if what they're claiming is true). Now compare it with good RPGs like Arcanum or Fallout where we not only get tons of different enemies to fight but also tons of quests.

5 enemy types and 2 hours of gameplay.
In kickstarter campaign they said there is going to be 100+ types of monsters and 40+ hours of gamepaly.
Let's do the math:
100 types of monsters = 5 types of monsters*20.
2 hours * 20 = 40 hours of gameplay.
Coincidence? I don'th think so
Which shows how bad their encounter design is, they're setting up themes, in chapter 1 we're fighting bandits, in chapter 2 trolls, etc. Linear and monotonous and with almost no quests between the fights during the presentation (Chapter 2). It's not a combat demo so their message is clear - you will have fights, fights and some more fights and it's the most important part of the game. It wouldn't be bad if the fights were interesting and offered some tactical options like in AoD/DR for example but here all encounters look the same.

Obviously a prototype version is the perfect opportunity to despair. Look at the final and unchangeable amount of enemy types and encounter design!

"Look at two finished games of the past that do it better than what I saw in two videos of a game in development to get my point."

Get your points toward the developers and bother them with your butthurt.
Oh, or let's have a pointless argument on the codex. Yeah, let's take this route.

Fucking whiny shits.

The companions showed more engaging dialogues and personalites in 2 hours of gameplay than PoE's companions in 200 hours...

If Kingmaker Codex Fundraiser will turn out not to be a scam (i.e. I get the same rewards as if I donated to their kickstarter campaign), I'll donate some money to 2017 - Make the Codex Great Again Fundraiser!

Pretty, these fundraisers have never been a scam. I donated $1000 to the Divinity: Original Sin II campaign and got the tier that I was promised from Larian. Don't worry about it.

REPORT FROM ANOTHER RABBIT HOLE

Oh, I see via today’s view, these folks are not the same as:

the Russians behind every Bush (Cold War 1),

the Russians behind every Trump (Cold War 2). ;)

The closest I’ve come to a MMO has been @ the Codex. Truth or Dare, who cares!
Ghosts of truth may linger. Yet no alternate facts lurk, whispering in the wings, (a bicameral wet ware construct stage left/right, or not).

The goal of millions is very over the top, beyond edgy marketing. A MOON shot.

Although whose brave cheeks will ultimately blush is bait for our participation, whether text or lucre.

The lure this day is team play, I will contribute. :salute:

Are you implying that the moon has been replaced with a replica?
