Sword Legacy: Omen is a challenging tactical RPG set in the candlepunk realm of Broken Britannia. Embark on a thrilling journey as a vengeful knight aided by an eldritch sorcerer in search of the long-lost Excalibur sword, the only hope for a land devastated by plague and intrigue. Explore rich environments, live a riveting storyline, and survive intense turn-based combat, in the veins of classic games, such as Final Fantasy Tactics and X-COM.

Developed by Brazilian studio Firecast Studio and published by Team 17.

The lord of Mercia has been assassinated, your love kidnapped, and your home is no more. As the leader of the party, you assume the role of Uther and his seven companions. Throughout your quest, you will have to face many trials and forge uneasy alliances in order acquire the mythical Excalibur sword and defeat the sinister and power-obsessed duke of Wessex.

Prove your worth as a tactician by exploring all five realms and dangerous locations, such as villages, dungeons, forests, and much more. Survive ambushes and rescue those in need by making use of each character’s abilities to solve riddles and vanquish your foes. It is up to you define the fate of Britannia… but at what cost?

Combat in Sword Legacy: Omen is always a challenge. As a strategist, you will need to plan your course of action with four characters at a time per quest. However, be ready to adapt and improvise because combat results always change based on the chosen abilities and the chances of landing an attack.

FEATURES
  • Tactical Combat: Learn the importance of strategic positioning to unleash powerful talent combos.
  • Free Exploration: When not in combat, investigate the environment, find treasures, solve riddles, and uncover secrets.
  • Party Customization: Adapt characters to your play style, manage your team, and progress by unlocking over 70 unique skills.
  • Hordes of Enemies and Unique Bosses: Fight a variety of vicious mobs and face powerful monsters in grueling battles.
  • Stress System: Use all your might to become victorious, but deplete your willpower and witness your heroes fall prey to panic.
  • Old-School Art Style With a Dark Twist: Relive the beautiful aesthetic of classic animations fused with the visuals of obscure and gothic comics.
  • A Different Take on a Classic Myth: Experience the Arthurian legends as never before, as classic characters and places are revamped, in a mature storyline of vengeance, alchemy and retro technology.
  • Interactive Environment: Study your surroundings and make deadly moves by blowing up explosive barrels and pushing enemies off edges.

Interesting, looks like this has quietly been in development since 2015.

In before trademark infringement suit from Richard Garriott.

What even is candlepunk?

Am I gonna get attacked by candles?
Or is it gonna be about lots of candles and candle superpowers like the one guy from one piece where he could shit out wax?

https://www.wattpad.com/2445108-sf-sub-genre-definitions-candlepunk

This sub-genre denotes a late medieval civilization with futuristic technology. Imagine if you will, knights, monks and kings taking part in a conference call.

Candlepunk has also been called "Castlepunk"and "Middlepunk." It can also be "Dungeonpunk" when adding magical elements, or "Plaguepunk" when describing a plague-ridden candlepunk society.

Connie Willis' 'Doomsday Book' is an example of Candlepunk.

Assassin's Creed II (probably) and Assassin's Creed (possibly) are also examples of this sub-genre.

Interesting considering the fact that Mercia didn't exist as a nation during the late medieval era. It was over as a nation before year 1000.

Ah, candlepunk, one of my favorite choice of settings right behind gorillapunk and tuberculosispunk.

I think I spotted an action point system in the brief bits of combat shown in the video. The art style and interface design look suspiciously like Banner Saga, is this using the same 'engine'?

What about scrotumpunk?
Don't you love desert worlds populated only with scantily clad busty women and overly muscular bandits? This is a setting of choice for such prestigious animes as Mad Max and Fist of the Northern Star.

This game needs a vikings addon so that you can kill filthy pagans.

Need to wait a couple o centuries for em to show up.

So they Offa'd the Lord of Mercia then? Get it eh eh?

I'll get me coat.
Vikings discovered England near the end of Mercia's existence. One of the Northumbrian kings killed the legendary Ragnar.

This looks good but no information on release date was on the website. And there are no forums, just hipster social junk. I just need to know when and how I can buy it.

I've been following this for over a year. I thought about creating a topic, but it didn't seem like something you guys would be interested in.

I distrust indie titles with a colon in their name, but the trailer wasn't too bad, albeit really slow.

6 of the 7 developers have beards, so this could be good. Though I'm worried that isn't as strong a signal as it once was.

Grab the Codex by the pussy
These days everything that isn't set in the modern day is somethingpunk. How lame.

Seriously, if we take cyberpunk as the basis to judge every other "punk", BG2 is more "punk" than this BS.

This "punk" thing is gay and needs to stop.
