So how do you get in the beta? Buying your way in is the only option? Because Oriath effects look super gay, I prefer legacy packs to them, but the latter don't have beta keys attached.

Or you do the races and accomplish something in those :)

I am not sure beta is worth it. It lacks 2 acts, does not have all Labs and everything you accomplish in beta will be wiped (not transferred to Standard)

Well I don't play standard so I don't care either way.

Btw is there a reliable way of getting them twitch effects? Because stupid god damned amazon can't process my credit card for whatever reason.

The ways to get into beta:
1) be a big name PoE streamer
2) have $500+ total spent on ethical(tm) microtransactions
3) buy one of beta supporter packs with the beta key
4) do well in races during current racing events + get lucky to get a key in a draw among good racers
5) snipe a surplus key from someone who got more than one
6) wait in line just like everybody else, maybe you'll get an invite (lol, sure)

^ actually even the big names need $500+ total spent. They only got priviledged access to the Alpha. At least Raiz had to spend money and complained it didn't recognize the fact that he spent more than 500 on MTX'

Well, considering that current beta has a fairly limited scope (non-map content is limited to lvl55-60 and cruel lab; you can do maps but start heavily underleveled), the alpha access was more than adequate to provide the streamers with preview content and test out the new balance for themselves.

I never could get into Lacerate. For me, it seems inferior to Cleave in pretty much every way except in Gorge-type maps where Lacerate's cone-type attack has more effective coverage. Lacerate is slower (25% less ias), deals less aoe damage, deals less single-target damage (when factoring the attack speed malus), and it even has smaller effective aoe (Cleave covers more area). Plus Cleave now has a cool threshold jewel that grants you free fortify.

I'd love to get beta access actually. I want to slowly walk around and check out the new content and story, so that I can focus on going faster during early 3.0.0 instead.
And I want to do a couple of stress-free mechanics tests with suboptimal shit.

Lacerate was also hit by aoe nerfs i think, this gem needs some serious rework to be viable.

Hey, shut up!

I just don't want to compromise between being fast enough for early league jew-deals and enjoying the new sights and lore.
I'd rather have both.:keepmyjewgold:

Game is great, but too bad that characters have to be one-trick-ponies. Especially after Ascendancies were added. Or maybe there are more prolific, yet viable builds?

Every good character in any role-playing game has to be specialized. You can try to be a jack of all trades but you won't be able to get past the easiest difficulties.

But honestly from what I have seen from all the different abilities and ridiculous amount of items you can potentially create a ton of different builds. I remember reading somewhere about someone doing a magic casting Marauder with the right items.

Also, decided to take a break from my witch in Act one cruel in order to pass the game with a Marauder. I just love all the characters and want to try and get to level 100 with each one. That is my long term goal.

Doing a caster (or bow-using) marauder is a time-venerated tradition.

After Ascendancy, it's not even a gimmick anymore - it's a given. Mostly because of Chieftain ascendancy.

However, the best thing about post-Ascendancy mara is that the Berserker ascendancy class is actually nothing short of amazing for casters. Amazing life an mana leech options (or huge extra utility via warcries for classes that don't rely on leech), huge damage boost, and, of course, a whole ton of increased attack speed boosts for your movement skills:cool:.

Funny observation, but trannies seem to be quite interested in the whole streaming business. I noticed quite a few trannies streaming on twitch, or doing some youtube streaming.

I guess that is a decent way to make some money for people who can't really do the more traditional jobs. Also, I bet trannies get some sweet SJW monies just for being "brave, independent, beautiful, transpeople!".

Maybe I should become one, I always wanted to have a set of tits of my own...

It's old variability of build vs variability of build application thing. If you have tightly specialised characters (like in Overwatch), then characters will be more distinct from each other, but gameplay of each would be more monotonous. If each build/class can do different things (like in Paladins), then there will be less significant difference between them

Link said 'ceddit,' not 'reddit' is all that was wrong.

Edit: I made it ~3 minutes into the video. 'It' kept talking over the guy at the booth explaining shit to him about the most useless, irrelevant garbage. You're testing a brand new Act for a brand new system, while using a controller, and your only reactions are:
a) the fucking loot filter
b) "OH MY CHARACTER IS SO STRONG."

I hate that the Reddit is the most useful place for updated PoE information, it's full of the biggest doorknob-licking troglodytes, whose only goal is to water this game down to the point where it's basically a better looking D3.
