And be warned: Star Control 3 is sadly nowhere near as good as Star Control 2.
So I've heard... And SC1 is just the combat system.
This postmortem had some interesting tidbits. It's impressive how much thought went into every little detail, like the Spathi who abandoned the Moon base and settled as far away from Earth as possible on Pluto, or the Ur-Quan nuking historical artifacts from orbit including Atlantis that hunams didn't know about.

And, no, I found only 3 rainbow worlds. But I looked it up. Are there any clues as to where to find them? The only clue I got came from the Slylandro who pointed me to a blue star nearby.

Codex 2014 Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy
To be honest I can't remember how many Rainbow Worlds are pointed to "in-game", but the idea is to establish the pattern that they generate.

Namely, that of an arrow pointing towards somewhere.

In-game, that "somewhere" is the star known as Groombridge (located in the top-right corner of the map) but whatever content the devs intended to leave there got left out.

On a related note, that same pattern appears in Star Control 3. Make a note of the star that it points to there, the end-game takes place there.

EDIT: If you want more of the same, do a search for "Star Control Project 6014" and you'll find a link to a playable demo.

A demo that shows more promise than anything Stardock will ever do with the license.

Jeez, combining KeeperFX and my own tweaks (less monsters for me, more for enemies, infinite money for all keepers) led to some epic turtlefaggotry.

All keepers could hire up to 20 creatures (via entrances).
As always, I sticked to Missuses, Dragons, Warlocks and some Vampires.
Problem is, the blue enemy invested heavily into Fatsos and Dragons, and ~18 of these combined were able to gas all my Girls and Vampires even. :(
Had to utilize the secret Uruk-hai tunneling technique (plus "Destroy walls" spell) to hurl 5 Boulders of Death [tm] right into enemy's stronghold:

Notice professional bouldering ramp I've created in the room below:

:obviously:

Anyway, that sure helped:

With ~3/4 of his Lv10 creatures gone, the blue fag was quickly dealt with...
The green one shortly followed:

OFC, such creature setup isn't cheap:

:(

After that, I went after the humies. A dozen of casters made a first wave of enemies:

But they were all cleansed in the holy dragon fire:

Lv. 10 hero followed:

But was brutally raped by Ladies and Vampires:

:obviously:

The inability to copy this game's concept (and fantastic execution) is a proof of current industry's shitty state.
RIP Bullfrog and oldfag gaming as a whole.

:salute:
