Yes, you keep everything - even as you switch characters.

Yeah don't worry about Route B being similar it's just two similar sections and you'll be dodge jumping everywhere.

How long is the game until you reach the different endings approximately?

How long is the game until you reach the different endings approximately?

Route A is around 10-12 hours if you stick to the plot and only do a handful of sidequests (which is easy to do since the game isn't very grind-heavy and is easy to cheese if you find yourself getting bored with combat). If you decide to do everything, then it's easily the longest section at around 20-30 hours.

Route B is shorter; doable in 8-10 hours if you stick to the plot and keep sidequests to a minimum, otherwise it's around 15 hours.

Route C is much shorter and more story focused. Even if you do all the sidequests available, it'll take you around 10 hours at most to complete everything.

For reference, I completed the game and got all endings on my first go through with around 28 hours of playtime.

My file had 34hours on it when I finished all sidequests, major endings, all weapons and went for Ending Y. I did have extensive knowledge of the game before starting my playthrough though and only died 3 times during the entire game, so your mileage may vary. Took a friend of mine about 55hours to do the same who went in blindly, though he sucks at videogames.

Someone said that to finish nier grinding isnt necessary (except for the secret boss or something), so is there any way to find out in which order I can do sidequests? I just finished the Part where I got quicktravel and tried the missing androids quests before. I finished it but while I was 13 the Machine I had to destroy was 35. The next father Servo Quest turned out to be for something along the lines of forty since he is forty and I also couldnt finish the final data quests for jackass (30 seconds limit no damage). The Journal doesnt tell me the levels of the quests and I dont want to spend hours running around just to see that the quests are to high level for me.

1. The point of no return is the missiles mission in the Sunken City. Until then you can carry on with the main story and come back later to mop up side quests.

Thats all I needed. Jackass quest is only doable for me if I can do enough damage in 30 seconds, theres no git gud involved if I cant do it in half a minute. The same goes for Servo, although he has no time restraint I am to lazy to spend half a lifetime just to beat up a mob when I can do it later and faster.

There's no grinding required when you play on normal and want to just complete the main-endings.

In my opinion just finishing the main-endings as quickly as possible doesn't do the game justice though. Finishing all sidequests enhances the game-experience a lot. One of those quests will require some money-grinding since it requires all weapons at lv4 (you could just farm the materials to upgrade, but its easier farming machine cores for 15 minutes and then just buying the materials from vendors). This sidequest will also lead to Ending Y, which is the only serious "joke" ending, and if you care at all about the original or Emil in general, I highly suggest to check out that ending.

Did the Jackass quest in my first playthrough too. you just need to itemize for it and max out your damage and witch time if you have it.

Took me 45 hours to reach end E on hard.

And finished with 5 main endings. What a game! The gameplay is tight, the story is good and the music... just dowloaded 4 CDs OST. There is a something peculiar about these Directors (like Swery or Sudo) phenomena when their games has that specific vibe and tone.

Waypoint: This might seem like a strange question, but your stories are full of dark themes and unsettling stories—cannibalism, murder, death, suicide. In the real world, what makes you happy?

Taro: Maybe it was the time I was told, "I've always liked you YOKO san" by a girl. However, because things like that don't happen too often in the real world, I mainly find happiness in food. When I'm able to eat cheap and delicious food, like ramen and beef bowls, I can't stop but to think, "Ah, what a great era I was born in." But to be honest, I want a girl to tell me, "I've always liked you YOKO san."

But he's married. Doesn't his wife tell him that?

Hello!

If you liked the game and finished all the endings, you may know that the game continues afterwards - well, the story continues, not the game. The story was told during the NieR Automata concert recitals, but only in Japanese.

So.

Here are 2B and 9S's voices acting out the recitals in English for interested parties. It's quite good!
This is relevant for anyone who would like to know what happens after the ending E or get more background information in case some of the story made no sense to you.

Something tells me he's making a facetious statement here.

Hopefully. We don't want another Kentaro Miura to happen.

Finally finished it at 65 hours.

Man, this has got to be one of my favorite games of all time. A true masterpiece in my eyes, despite the faults.
