Well... that kind of is a valid argument, yes.
I didn't really follow its development, but I remember the devs of Leviathan: The Last Day of the Decade (officially a "visual novel" - since those sell on Steam - but actually most of the time plays much more like a traditional Western adventure game with first-person perspective; not bad IMHO, but - with a bigger budget - much more could've been done with its premise and a number of gameplay elements that suddenly pop up only to disappear again) reporting having to jump through hoops to keep (most of?*) their queer content in.

*It feels rather contrived that you can have the (never fully shown) teenage protagonist state twice - once jokingly and once seriously - that he's bisexual as well as find out via some mindreading that his best bud has been (rather obviously) in love with him for over a decade, but when he does, he's all "No, never!" toward the idea despite the above and apparently having been casually fucking his other (female) childhood friend for years. Also the writing breaks down some toward the end when you can't even try to tell said bud that you weren't the one who betrayed him.

We're OK at copying games with good game mechanics like heroes, KB or JA, but can't write for shit even with personal comissar pointing a pistol to every writer's head; so MCA should either write everything or don't bother, since one companion and some advice on Skype (and face it, he's not the most productive member of gaming community as he just spreads too thin abusing his reputation to write whatever he wants) can't salvage game's writing.

More like the first companies who hired him did that, now the rest have to hire him to not fall behind.

However, Chris' main job is pretty much to tell their writers/designers how to write/design better.

It's similar to how when an American pilot became an ace in WWII he was immediately pulled from the front line to go teach a group of new recruits how to be good pilots.

Well, the overwhelming majority of the pilots who were instructed by aces didn't become aces themselves.

Also, those games only have bad writing compared to Planescape: Torment or Shadowrun: Dragonfall or the Expeditions games or Betrayal at Krondor or something like that.

Compared to Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor they read pretty good.

Moar liek, he'll do synopsis of the plot, of undetermined level of depth and detail, then go for another contract leaving the grunts to fill in all the gaps. That's what guest writers usually do. Maybe will personally do an important character or three, or a specific level. Either way, it will be a game written with MCA, not by MCA.

I dont know, I think the Hammer Sickle writing is funny. It contain commie injokes, so that might have triggered the western players instead. From someone living in commie system, the jokes are just funny. "Did she morally corrupt you? Does she, comrade?"

Silent Storm and SS Sentinels writings are functional. It might not be memorable but it contain no fault whatsoever to criticize. (The highlight is the companions' quotes).
