Is this the closest we're going to get to a new D&D CRPG in the foreseeable future? I don't know of any plans for a game based on Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition, and there were no games based on 4th Edition at all, which is ironic considering how many parallels people drew between 4E and video games.

Nothing about this makes me want to play it. As others have said,

- generic fantasy
- looking like mobile bullshit
- infantile characters
- Sid Meiery mini-games
- MCA

Seems at this point it just needs a 40$ price tag to make it completely worthless.

The more I read about this the less enthused I am.
Less and less impressed with Chris Avellone at this point in his career. Sorry guys, but just because he's on board doesn't make something good.
An excellent cornerstone for me is good combat, and RTwP does not good combat make, not with Pathfinder.

RTWP demotes it to a 90% off sale for more. How many times must we learn that system is absolute shit?

There's always the potential for Beamdog's "big" project to be a 5E game, but that's really all there is.

How many times can you play a Forgotten Realms game, though? I know it's a vast world but you kinda know they are going to do the same in the end.

What's more to the point is if your sole criteria for flipping your shit upon a game's announcement is "isometric RTwP in a fantasy setting" then I'm pretty sure your tatse is fairly well established and no doubt parroted on many threads on a regular basis... and yet you feel the need to repeat yourself ad-nausea on any thread about a game that someone decides to make with those features. There are other threads you can browse while ignoring this one... you should have learnt that by now... you know, like how I barely ever even open a Bethesda thread because those games don't match my taste...

A game is only disappointing if it appealed to you in the first place. If you think the initial design plans are inherently shit then you're not waiting for disappointment, you're a retard wasting your time following a game you're knowingly setting yourself up to dislike.

This post is mainly aimed at repetitive posters in this thread rather than one-off shit posts.

I've been waiting years for a RTwP fantasy RPG! Why don't more people make these kinds of games? All there is lately is turn-based crap!

Ironically, there's a choice of everything around at the moment and even sarcasm or not sarcasm on such a point is fairly meaningless. But if it was a habit posting it 8 years ago why break a habit just because its no longer relevant?

Pathfinder artwork is juvenile, and a joke. It's been like that since day one.

Grab the Codex by the pussy Divinity: Original Sin Torment: Tides of Numenera Shadorwun: Hong Kong Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture
Is kingmaker the series of adventure where you get to command your own demesne?

Yes, the game is referencing the Kingmaker Adventure Path that starts you off in a smaller adventure clearing some bandits from a frontier, then developing into demesne creation where you install yourself as lord of a realm you carve out in your campaign. If it follows the sandbox and open-ended nature of the original adventure path and emulates the Pathfinder ruleset, then I'll be very much interested in the game, despite whatever folks here say about the graphics and artwork.

Here is a link to the original Kingmaker Adventure Path:
