Associate Marketing Manager
We're looking for a versatile Associate Marketing Manager who will take charge of brand, channel, and product marketing efforts for Pillars of Eternity, our award-winning computer role-playing series.
Nobody makes games like Obsidian. Over the course of our 14 years in the industry, we've sold millions of units, won hundreds of awards, and have always put our players first in every decision we've made. We want more gamers to know and experience why we've been so successful, and that's where marketing comes in! Joining the Marketing team means helping to make sure gamers the world over know why Obsidian fans love us like nobody else -- and that the feeling is mutual.
This role will work closely with the heads of marketing, brand strategy, publishing, and PR to shape and execute effective marketing tactics for individual titles in the Pillars of Eternity series, as well as the overall brand.
Responsibilities
- Identifies the target and wide audience(s) for Pillars of Eternity, develops positioning strategy, and works closely with the Obsidian brand team to maximize Pillars' market share.
- Develops owned, social, and retail campaigns to be executed either in-house or using outside agencies.
- Tracks and analyzes sales volumes and market share trends, as well as competitor activity, to ensure Pillars of Eternity is top of mind for key audiences, and that marketing programs are effective.
- Assists the Director of Brand Strategy in developing ideas for the Pillars brand within Obsidian's suite of products, and works with other business units and marketing team members to execute approved plans.
- Communicates regularly and well with internal development teams to become an authority on all things Pillars of Eternity and ensures buy-in from development on marketing efforts.
I guess they were only doing weekly updates because they were trying to raise money. A bit disheartening.
Maybe the new BRAND MANAGER will be able to write more updates: http://www.obsidian.net/jobs/open-positions/production/970-associate-marketing-manager
I will self-eject if they turn PoE2 into an Elder Scrolls clone
I will self-eject if they turn PoE2 into an Elder Scrolls clone
How would that even happen?
Third person PoE2:
Google Translate said:Hello Josh! I love everything you have done in your work! In PoE 2, there are some choices of the previous title that will affect the action; And I remember that there is a marginal figure, that is, Uariki. He is an aumaua, who is in Crägholdt. I do not want to spoiler about it, for what reason is he there and why he studies very hard, so.When one leaves him to continue with his studies, could this be somehow in the PoE 2 appear?
Yes, there is a possibility, but it can easily die.
In the Deadfire, we continue the adventure of the Arch magician. You can see them in these stories.
I feel like chanters need a buff. They're fine off-tanks but they're awful choices for main PCs. I love bards so much its a problem but I've never kept a chanter protag. Working on a priest playthrough atm.
I'd rather have them make meaty updates with interesting new things to show, than shitting out meaningless boring updates.2 weeks with no update...

Speaking of Josh, he just confirmed on SA that Fenstermaker will be writing Edér.
Guess Efens is the new MCA of Obs now, people getting excited and shit.
Hypothetically, I have a few things I would want to play with. I don't want to tip my hand, so pardon the vagueness. One would be having fewer, but far deeper and more interconnected companions - interconnected both with respect to one another and with respect to the overall plot. "FEWER?! FUCK THAT," you say. But everything is zero-sum in this business, and every companion we add takes a ton of time to write and implement. So yes, fewer. But better. More memorable. More like a real group of people. Less likely to be collecting dust in your stronghold.
