Too Many Huge Threads - Are Mods Thread-Merging A Lot?

I've had some of my threads merged with the other huge threads for games, and was wondering if this was a constant duty of moderators. If so I think it causes huge problems for the forum as it makes it impossible to find more specific information, reducing the amount of interest for smart people, and encourages new posts, which increases the amount of dumb talk. Thanks mods, keep doing greatness.

All the actual RPG discussion has been ghettoized and is now pointless to even attempt to bother with.

We created sub-forums to prevent this problem.

Maybe we need sub-sub-forums. Because my motto is if it doesn't work the first time, double the fuck down. Remember: In whatever you do, you either win or lose. That means your odds of winning are 50/50. So if you lose once, you're definitely going to win the next time.

Either the mods are merging threads together or they're not. The sub-forums don't change the problem of seeing 200 page threads and thinking, "hmm, only morons would contribute there."

The point of subforums is to make it so thread merging is unneeded. If all oblivion and mass effect shit is kept out of main board then someone can start a troll thread about playing arcanum as a gunslinger in peace for a goddam change, no merging needed.

Thanks Wonderdog. But I let me ask you a question---does that necessarily mean mods aren't threadmerging? Because a guy recently responded, and I mentioned that his comment doesn't mean mods are, or are not, threadmerging. Getting a bit of deja vue here. I was hoping to talk with people on the internet about sub-forums for at least 3 hours, it would make the perfect ending to a weekend, but I only want to do that after my original question about the problem was answered. In the future you and me and DarkUnderlord can make a youtube video fanblog about how awesome sub-forums are, after we deal with issues that exist independently, regardless of how related they might be to sub-forums.

I always say put 200% effort into anything you do, then you're guaranteed 100% to win because 200% * 50% = 100%.

You can't beat math. But you can use it to your advantage.

I don't think they need to be threadmerging any more. No that they ever did. We have a few mods who are kind of special so who knows what goes on. But if your threads got merged then obviously someone is doing it. Basically some mods are super anal retentive and otherwise mentally ill, and this is the result. No matter how much people beg it just keeps on going.

Wonderdog I don't think any of my threads have been merged since the sub-forums were created, so maybe you're right and they don't even need to. Just fyi that your hypothesis might be 100% correct I'm just waiting for an actual mod to answer.
