Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
What you describe is not even remotely the same, but hey: Only a retard has an argument with another retard.

Those are more mechanical changes that streamlined the experience. The dragon segments in Divinity 2 had unresponsive controls, crap draw distance and not much verity. They bored me to tears. You did get a crapton of exp, the only thing that was good about it.

If they made a Divinity 3 and kept the dragon form while also making it fun and varied, I wouldn't mind. I don't hate aerial combat.

The thing about the dragon combat was the usual stuff that happens in rpg: too much of a ability to kite fights. I spent around 5 hours demolishing a fortress once (because i could), but that's not to say that behavior should be encouraged.

Honestly though, the big offenders are all optional (which is more than many shitty companies would do, looking at you bioware) and the loot being level scaled - instead of location randomized or similar, the much better solution for non historical artifacts if you're worried about this - bothered me a lot more.

Skinner box design can go die in a fire.

Flames of Vengeance shows that dragon segments in Divinity 2 can be gud.

Didn't people complain incessantly about the only dragon moment in FoV (i.e, the escort ending)?

Because they are scrublords who suck at the most basic arcade gameplay

The dragon maps in original Divinity 2 didn't bother me either, so I am not a good source on whether or not FoV's dragon escort was good or bad, I guess. But if the same people complained about both...

The prolem with the dragon segments is that you keep doing the same thing over and over again, which is destroying evil towers of evilness. Fucking boring is what it is.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
which can be averted if they are given enough time and money.

like i can imagine thousand cool scenarios in an RPG where you can turn into a dragon.

for example, a quest where you have to make villagers shit their pants by burning their livestocks and roar loudly

or help a man court a lady by letting them have a date on your back, while flying above the clouds under a starry night

etc, etc

Sounds pretty Larian-ey.

Instead we got the starting area flooded with poison gas and infested with evil things of evil. A pity.

i watched that little documentary they included in the steam version of divinity 2: complete edition. the cut content they mentioned make probably make obsidian's cut content seem small in comparison. (don't take the statement literally. i actually never count them, so whatevs)

Indeed. But if the towers were more diverse (about four types total is not enough) and grouped in tough to crack defensive constellations it would have been interesting.
Another problem was cooldown mechanics, but that's easy enough (just fucking axe it and replace with sane offensive resource management).

Then you're left with inability to attack ground targets (just allow it and make aerial approach as powerful dragon countered by powerful machinery VS approach on foot a tradeoff) and lack of ability to inflict more claws-on treatment on enemies (let player grapple and physically tear shit apart as befits what amounts to a flying godzilla), maybe let player ram through structures and flying vehicles as well.

The only thing left to do is a bit more involved flight model than aerial submarine that plagues space and dragon shooters alike - allow barrel rolls and at least some measure of momentum to trade off velocity and altitude via dives and climbs and to make circling and movement in general better than hovering.

Didnt they flesh out dragons in that Commander RTS hybrid? It had good reviews.

I played at least 200+ hours of Divinity 2:FoV completing base game and expansion multiple times.

Vendors restocked on levelups so i had the aspie problem of backtracking to check all venders for the loot every time i leveled up.

Liked the mind-reading mechanic, larian humor and the platforming puzzles in that dragon temple.

Turning into dragon was fun! just that dragon related stuff wasn't too well designed.

Also shit combat. fortunately with a few right enchants it was very easy to steamroll through it after midgame.

Just finished another run and only now encountered a hilarious easter egg in the ending:
if you killed the Killer Bunny during the first part of the game, you'll see him imprisoned along with you in one of the crystals in the Hall of Echoes.

What's your build and who oneshoots you? I think I was getting one or maybe two shot by the last guy, but I found some way around him. I think I stunned him and nuked him asap. I played as mage on hard.

Archers used to be op af in the vanilla game (pre FoV), you just use the explosive arrows skill or which one it was non stop and everyone gets lit af (literally!).

Fuckin' shame they nerfed archers so much since then.

I forget, is the dual wielding swords warrior build with that drain health skill still viable? This one was damn nice too, you're basically invincible since you get healed for fuckton of hp every time you hit, and since you're dual wielding the bonus is double as well. Fuckin' majestic smh.

Confirmed archers for being absolutely OP with their Explosive arrow skill.

Orma, did you make any good use of life+resist enchantments on gear? That shit was really important by the end of the game.
I don't really see any other reasons why you would get rekt there.

I remember getting rekt at the arena with a melee dude too when I played for the first time, but I don't remember why :M
