Good luck with not using a gaypad for 3D brawlers...
kb+m is perfectly fine, especially when you realize lock on works in hacking minigame.

Thank you very much for the advice.
Unfortunately I prefer to play unlocked. Plus I've found it doesn't really help you react faster and manouver to avoid bullets/find cover. However using the arrow keys for more precise rotation and keyboard only controls does help in my case.
I still don't love the minigame, but it's somewhat manageable.

We are perpetually trapped in a never ending spiral of life and death. Is this a curse, or some kind of punishment? I often wonder about the god who granted us this puzzle, and if we'll ever have a chance to kill him.

There are no happy endings, only misery and jokes.

what do you mean ****=kill? P sure it's fuck.
the Japanese text is more ambiguous. I think the censored word is kill because of what 9s actually does to 2bs body (thrusting his sword in and out) this happens twice iirc. that is why his reaction is so extreme.

the word fuck is used several times uncensored too, so the censoring was intentional.

edit:
context:
You don't trust anything
You want to destroy everything
You have lost hope in everything
You want to obtain everything
You want to be loved by all
You're thinking of how much you want to **** 2B aren't you?
Reality stained by lies
Hatred pouring into you
Overflowing desire

looking at this dialogue, fuck and kill would both fit in perfectly. I think it's both now.
Jackass hypothesizes that love and combat are functionally the same for Androids, so either interpretation is correct. This can be seen during 9S' encounter with the Clone 2Bs, where he first breaks down in tears at being able to see '2B' again, before breaking down in hysterical laughter and proclaiming that he finally "gets" to kill her for once.

stabbing someone over and over again isn't really subtle subtle symbolism

I couldn't play this game because it crashed a lot, did it change?

The game hasn't been patched yet. Most technical issues (resolution scaling, borderless windowed, etc.) have been fixed by a modder: https://github.com/Kaldaien/FAR/releases

Crashes still happen though. I'd advise everyone to wait until those are fixed. Some minor DLC is due in early May, maybe they'll deign to release a coinciding patch then.

Have experienced two crashes in 15 hours so far; I know it varies by rig, but personally I think it's not so bad.
Some minor bugs with NPCs disappearing (twice so far) - nothing a reload doesn't fix.

I haven't experienced any crashes.
I think I've seen some NPCs not spawning before a reload.

Played about 60 hours, had a single crash after alt-tabbing like 20 times in 5 minutes. Played the game with borderless gaming for the first couple of hours, switched to FAR once it got released.

You... disagree with the game having crashed twice for me, or that reloading has fixed whatever bugs there were on my end? That's very strange. How do you know what happened on my computer?

First game I have played from start to finish in years, and don't regret a thing. Even paid full price to support Taro.

Thank you, [E]veryone.

Can we talk about the credits? Jesus. We'll never see this again.

Taro is such a strange, depressed character and yet the [E]nding is so powerful and uplifting. Can't stop thinking about it.

Well, finally beat path B. The various small behind the scene details, descriptions, inner dialogues were a nice touch. Usually wouldn't be enough for me to repeat content though.
Looking forward to more content that is actually fresh.

I'm in my first playthrough and so far this is easily GOTY for me. It is the first time I wish I had a better PC so I could experience it better. I love doing side quests while in other games I hate them. I love playing with the chips. I love combat while action games are not my cup of tea. And I love the soundtrack. I wish the game maintains a good plot until the ending. I haven't felt that good with an action game since the first Metal Gear Solid.

I haven't played the original Nier or Drakengard series, but I'm intrigued right now.

Oh my God you don't even know what's still coming, but if you like the first playthrough this much already (I didn't, until the end) I think you'll feel like I do: that after seeing all the endings, there's no real need to play another game again. Pack it up, boys, we reached the pinnacle; why even bother playing anything else ever again?

Keep us updated, please, blog-style!

So, the English voice actor of 9S streamed the entire game. He has it on YouTube.

First video is here:

He starts out a little janky as he isn't used to streaming but he gets really good and many fans in a hurry. Also, 2B's voice actress joins him for some segments and they do the voices for all the unvoiced 2B and 9S lines, which is great. Even later on, A2's voice actress also joins in... and Eve's voice actor, too... And the Commander.

Now, of course they didn't actually get to play the entire game as it was just a job for them - so when they see certain parts they're just devastated. I love this game...

So I just got ending A and that's one way to have an ending. I'm kind of pissed I got locked out of a few side quests since I don't know how I could have got to them without triggering the storyline that locks them.

EDIT: Also, I'm loving the music at this point. Definitely want to see everything else this game has.

Having them voice all of the unvoiced parts was pretty cool, especially since 9S has some rather lengthy-solo sections here and there.
Having him fully voice the text-sequence after the final fight during Ending D was particularly great.
He's also started playing the original Nier right after finishing Automata, voicing all the un-read parts together with his roommates.

It's sad to see how a lot of VAs really don't seem to be doing very well money-wise, considering how many titles (games and Anime) they are working on in a given year you would expect for them not having to live in a house with 5 or 6 people together. With the emphasis most devs are putting on fully voiced games these days one would imagine they'd pay good money for it too. I suspect being a middle-aged man payed better than voicing the protagonist of the entire game.

The average voice actor has a salary of $31,400 a year ($15.10 an hour). An entry level voice actor can expect to earn $18,390 a year ($8.84 an hour) while an experienced voice actor has an average annual salary of $89,720 a year ($43.13 an hour).

They make more money than the coders who work on the games. What are you talking about.

First of all it's not like coders get compensated properly either.

Secondly, there's a gigantic difference between doing VA work for videogames or doing them for film/tv/radio (what you quoted includes both). The latter get residuals, decent hourly rates, compensation for particularly stressful VA work and royalties for home-box sales. The former get, on average, slightly above minimum-wage, no residuals, and no extra compensation for voice-straining work.

That's true, the guy who did 9S also did tons of commercials and anime and stuff.

Which makes it weird that he'd need a donation drive to get a new GPU.

Maybe these voice people are just bad with money. I am friends with a low-key VA guy who does stuff for games and flash animations and he is terrible with money, spending it all on furry commissions...

Why not ask for money while you can, he certainly seems to have build up a lot of momentum by engaging with the community after Automata came out and seems to be enjoying interacting with it.

It's just one more under-appreciated (though thanks to social media that has changed somewhat) part of the multi-billion dollar gaming-industry, which after its gigantic growth in the past 10-15 years still pays rather shitty. About half of what you'd get for a mediocre tv/radio ad, and that is without the premium in case the ad goes national. And then there's movie celebs asking for five-figures for the same amount of work, and some devs still actually pay that kind of money. That's just retarded.

He's probably asking for the money because he can and not because he needs it. Why buy a new GPU with your own money when you can ebeg for people to donate instead? Especially if you dangle a dongle in front of the fans saying that you'll stream more often and more efficiently with it.
