Fan games are usually not good but this one looks very promising. Obviously this is not even alpha material but I like what I see so far. They really captured the looks of Spyro 2 and even emulated the LOD technology of the original PS1 games.

Yep, it's a real project, probably vapourware. There's a twitter account and a tumblr if you're looking for some real info but I don't think it'll go anywhere.
