I don't think I've ever seen this posted here, I don't know how I feel about this scene, this is on a Tali sings level cringe which I would find hillarious on most occasions, but the game is so bad and this scene is just such utterly awful fanfiction, with forced shitty quirky writing and everyone gets a turn to speak and show off how cool and crazzzzzy they are.

It shows zero self awareness of the sheer awfulness of the product that they have produced, in fact it feels so self indulgent and like the developers are patting themselves on the back, that my emotions on watching it go from blank faced disbelief, to despair, to disgust, to rage and back again.

They are behaving like characters from an Avengers movie. 90% of their life is taken up by doing dangerous stuff that normal people would never do, but they are totally unfazed by it and the remaining 10% is them acting "relatable" to prove their are normal people. Fuck, I wasn't able to force myself to watch this scene in it's entirety. I tried several times but the cringe is just too strong. It will be even more painful watching it in game.

WTF is wrong with Bioware? Why have they got everyone singing with reverb on in an open campsite? Besides that everyone taking up the refrain and gathering together is just beyond retarded.
They could have made that scene with someone just sitting by the campfire singing with a haunting voice then poking the flames, another one or two characters with gruff voices sitting round the fire can take up the refrain, then we get shots of all other characters who can hear the song (adjusting the volume for distance) lost in their own actions or thoughts, maybe one or two start mumbling or humming along. Then the song finishes without that stupid fanfare, but just the first singer poking at the flames.

Oh come on, theres a difference between a romance that adds to the story and cheap sci fi erotica for millenials.

Everything can be turned into shit with enough work (or lack of it). Morrowind turned into oblivion, fallout 1 turned into 3, baldurs gate 2 turned into dragon age inquisition, diablo 1 turned into diablo 3. Doesnt mean you shouldnt even try anymore, just means a purge is needed, a big beautiful purge.

There's nothing inherently bad with romances in an RPG. Problem is that Bioware do that stuff only to pander to a certain audience, and it is done in a way in which you have to flirt with them until you have the sex scene (treated as a quest reward), and then you've done with that character.
It's basically a chekbox on their list of "mandatory" stuff to insert in their product, nothing more.

You suck at Southern Slave Manager, you don't care about slave happiness, you just need to hire more slave drivers, or equip your existing one's with better whips and guns. If their uppity negro meter gets too high you aught to stage a punishment whipping or promote and uncle Tom to the big house. Don't forget if you've got any strong slaves you can train them into Mandingo fighters where you can make money from them in the "conversation" pit, or by selling their services to horny southern Belles. Also don't forget to play the long game and sow your seed into your female slaves, to make mulattos to work in your packing plants and operating delivery carts.

I thought they renamed Southern Slave Manager anyway because it was seen as not being PC?.... to Antique Farm Equipment Simulator.

I don't mind a little sex in RPGs as long as it doesn't feel like a dating sim or softporn. Most leave it out, but that doesn't seem right either. Logically, it should be a major motivation behind NPCs' actions. I just don't want to get into the details.
