PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I'm addicted to this game even though it hurts me. Nerd rage uninstalled, then reinstalled this morning.

how many times i wished just one fireball.. just one god damn fireball maybe even flask with oil and fire with 70%+ chance to selfburn.

Having just finished ToEE, I get this feeling often.

Any sort of AoE would be terrible for the game, but would enjoy as a bonus after finishing game under certain conditions or something. Recruit a Wizard. Can cast FB/MM/CloudKill. Can only wear cloth armor. 20 HP max. Good luck.

killed in turn one by bandit marksman.

there should be a tier 3 perk where all the +ranged def from shields you get also applies to anyone who is directly behind you. This would be useful if you had to protect someone squishy from arrows.

I think that archers shouldn't start in such position that they can hit on the first turn because sometimes it really sucks.

Yeah, some AOE attacks would be fun. Although I'm not so sure I'd enjoy goblins chucking molotovs into my shieldwall.

I really like the way it plays now. I think grenades or magic might break the spell that makes combat so engaging. Too strong and it becomes "find high ground and lob your grenades." Too weak and they won't be worthwhile. Too expensive and you'll be facing enemies who use them while hoarding yours. And ultimately I don't see how they'd make things more fun.

I was just kidding. The whole premisis is that the game is set in a low magic fantasy world. Fireball slinging magic users simply don't fit. Sometimes when I get a group of enemies together in a big and hard fight I simply can't help but wish for something that goes boom. Knowing full well it would mess up the balance of the game and simply be contraproductive. The game is great fun right now.

And I can't help but imagine goblins throwing molotov cocktail after molotov cocktail into my ranks and raging about it right after that.

Strange that I cannot find any trace of this poorly optimized pile of dung anywhere on the upcoming titles list on Steam ...

Quit whining, go to work, and throw your potato battery out of the window, or donate to little niggers in africa, and then buy some proper hardware.

Now, now -- there's no cause to be a fucking moron now, is there ? As it so happens, old chum, my hardware is most definitely not in question.

Care to explain what's your problem then? Where does this perceived "poor optimization" reveal itself during the game?

there should be a option to cap your frames cant remember. No reason to have your computer work for 200+fps.

So could you tell me what level, composition of my army and tactics to employ?

10 warriors is a near-endgame encounter. You're way too weak to be taking on that many.
You need better armor (200+).
You should not be wasting time destroying their shields. Orc shields are the toughest in the game, and generally you don't want to destroy any shield that you can't take out in 2 hits, ideally one. Longaxes and billhooks do decent damage through armor, though.
Terrain versus orcs is tricky before you get several bros with indomitable, because high ground your frontline occupies is likely to be used against you in a protracted engagement. If you're near a ledge, it's usually best to have your back rank occupy the higher ground.

i found out that keeping/repairing/ selling orc equipment is rewarding except maybe shields

The orc young's wooden shields are good for use against other orcs, since they last longer.
Most orc equipment sells for good prices; the main issue is the wear and tear to your own gear. Having either specialized antiarmor or universally high-tier weapons on all your men helps with this.

They're pretty flimsy. Warriors' metal shields are the super durable ones. Wooden shields are good vs goblins though, they're light, have +20 ranged defense and gobos have no way of destroying shields.

Edit: is ancient dead armor lootable? I don't think it was when I last played. I see they added it on the wiki.

I agree with Kayerts on this one. The big metal shields don't offer enough extra oomph for their fatigue penalty vs wooden orc shields and if you're using shields on specialists (the only folks who should be running with shields at a mid to high levels, IMO), the wooden ones last long enough and are pitifully easy to replace unless your strategy is to field 6+ mad axemen.

But orc wooden shields are less durable than regular wooden shields, ranged def is irrelevant vs orcs and you get a bigger fatigue penalty. So why would you use them unless you have no access to normal wooden shields for some reason?

Battle Brothers would cause my motherboard fan to go into high gear and kick off a lot of heat, so either my CPU or my GPU is being pummeled by this game.
Quite weird, because i dont have such problem. And game runs fine on my 6 years old laptop, with only hd5870 and old gen i5 on board
This makes me think ...................... hmmmmmmm

'Cause I'm cheap when I'm orc hunting. Going through disposable but easily acquired shields is a great way to control costs. I'm responding in part to the suggestion that you can't turn a profit hunting orcs. I'd rather sell metal and wipe my ass with the wooden ones. No other enemies reliably bust shields at that stage--a fallen hero or a bandit leader with an axe might, but what else?--so I'll use regular shields in other scenarios.

Ah, ok, makes sense. Still, I'd rather use regular ones, I always have tons of spare ones from fighting bandits early in the game.
