Yeah bro Platinum is known for all their great games like the TMNT game that was so bad it was removed from distribution and Scalebound was so bad it was canceled.

TNMT is probably more of Activision fault if we consider they gave Platinum less time with each licensed game. After checking out footage from Japanese version it looks like Square gave them more time so it should be fine.

Hilarious yet not unexpected that most of the bigger review-sites clock this game at 30hours since they think that NG+ just means the same game again.

So the japanese review gave this game the lowest score of the bunch? Maybe it will serve as a message to japanese devs to make more of these kinds of games for the west because at this point the japanese audience is probably more interested in aidsfest dating sims and boob groping simulators rather than actual video games.

I am also interested.

So, how long is the game without NG+?
About 15-20 hours.

As far as the other endings go
Second ending about another 10-15 hours.
3rd ending is rather short, 3-4hours if you had leftover sidequests, less if you just breeze through the main storyline.
4th/5th ending are another 15-20 easily.
100% is gonna take 60-100 hours in total
NG+/Endings are loose terms in this franchise though, the game isn't really done until you at least finish all major endings. It's not like Darksouls where you replay the game with tougher enemies, the entire story is different/continues.
For Nier:Automata Ending A/B are the same story from different perspectives, basically the first half of the game. You then get an intermission that connects the first and second half of the game, taking another hour or two without sidequests. Its final scene then starts the second half of the game where you continue switching between 2 characters. At the end of the second half you get to make decisions leading to either Ending C, D or E. You also get to use Stage-Select after Ending C/D/E to complete leftover quests, get more alternate endings (there are 20 bad endings and another one for 100%ing the game) and finally finish up the game/fight the super-bosses.
I would say about 30-40 hours to complete the game without doing any sidequests (which you will probably end up doing anyway) and just breezing through the main storylines.

edit: Fucked up a little on the endings, my bad.
The middle half of the game is no proper ending, just an intermission. Ending C, D and E are all acquired at the end of the main-storyline. Accidentally mixed things up since the middle part of the game has like 3 or 4 bad endings by itself.

No outcry from feminists yet?
Sad!

When the Man itself reacts to porn of his game with "send me more" and "why a female protagonist? Well, I like women" there is little you can do

So I gotta hit istantgaming if I want this cheaper

I can't read the reviews for SPOILERS, how's performance and keyboard+mouse controls (a.k.a port quality)

Common sense would make it hard to make a case for feminists against this game anyway. Sure, 2B is being sexualized quite a lot, and so is A2. Apart from visual sexualization of those two, the majority of the main-cast of the game is female though, with a lot of diverse and actually believable characters (if you can even call androids believable at all), two strong independant female leads etc.. For every reason why Feminists might get all up in arms about this game theres is 2 more that would suggest them actually being happy with the portrayal of women in this game (2B, A2, Anemone, the Commander and most of the other major protagonists or side-characters). Not that common sense and logical thinking are characteristics found in feminism so the shitstorm might just not have happened yet since the game hasn't been released in the west yet.

Well, I saw the secret boss in the desert and now I've got the feels.

Hearing the recording of Emil mention Kaine and indirectly, Nier in the, "Because this is the world my friend tried to save!" line just killed me.

I guess life hasn't beaten the emotions out of me yet...

Feminists can't decide whether they should be offended by the problematic portrayal of women or be impressed be butts drying off in real time.

Since they can't teasing PC gamers in general anymore, now they decided to making fun of SEA gamers:

Well then, this game should be considered GOTY... If the Codex didn't have such irrational hatred against japanese games (not unwarranted though). Also, dat ass! technology, much better than silly hairline tech asperged so much by Ubisoft and the others. :incline:

Naturally, the game's soundtrack is god-like and most already available on Youtube. A demonstration:

I'll have to upgrade my PC one of these days...

PS: Seeing a Codex review of this game would be awesome, but it is unlikely to happen.

My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
It brings some happiness to my heart that Automata didn't receive so much attention as it did because of some massive advertising/shilling campaign or because it's "Platinum's next big game" (an effect that has long worn off) but largely because of word of mouth and Taro's growing cult following despite most of his previous game being flawed on multiple levels.
Shows there's a demand for unique games after all.

From the trailer, it looks like it has some reminiscing to the Nier variety of game modes - with 2D sideview sequences.
