Kudos to crpgaddict to getting through this game! Would have loved wandering around FATE as a kid. The game seemed interesting enough that I would eventually like to play it, so I loaded the WHDLOAD installed version on my newly purchased MIST FPGA (this thing is awesome).
I think his fixation on bringing up nudity in games whenever he can is bizarre. Normal people would just ignore it, or at the most put a screenshot up and make some sarcastic remark.

In the 80s, beating a 300 hour game for pixelated nudity was probably worth it. Nowadays its too easy to get, it cheapens the accomplishment.

For anyone who has missed it, Olaf Barthel has shared some interesting information about FATE's development, ReLine Gmbh and the German gaming scene in the comments. Good stuff, and as good as we will get since both owners of the company are dead.

BTW, I am less bothered by puritanical comments on pixel nudity and more about ignorant commenters hopping on the bandwagon and slagging off the game because it has a lot of grind and a sucky ending. For all its flaws, it is still a major achievement among CRPGs, and the first few ten hours of it are a whole lot of fun. Philistines!
