Humans vs orcs, originality. Computer assisted designs. Were the Perry twins really such expensive hires.
Well it is still a year away so there is at the very least time to accumulate enough capital for the investment this box will require.

Always good to hear about a new Warhams game, but I'd rather see a Necromunda or Epic game for PC's/consoles than another Blood Bowl.

I believe GW has gone pretty much 100% digital for miniature design now. Making the steel molds for plastic injection molding is so much easier and cheaper when you can just feed a digital file to a automated CNC machine.

I think you are correct. The Perry twins' contract ended with them sculpting the miniatures based on the third Hobbit film and I assume WHFB and WH40k had moved onto full CAD before that.

My opening post was too negative since one can still get a hold of the original BB models albeit most likely at a higher price than is economic for most. But the funny thing is in production model and out of production model prices are quite close even despite this 'Old Hammer' thing going on.
Many people enjoy the look of CAD models and that doesn't prevent me among other from enjoying the Citadel/Marauder models' of the past or vice versa.

A Necromunda or a mix of Necro and Confrontation video game would be sweet. Although GW has given the license for making a video game of even something as unknown as Man'O War I still wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a Necromunda video game, especially not one that is faithful to the tabletop game in most aspects.

Well, they did managed to pull of Mordheim and it's very good, in my opinion of course. Given the fact that Fantasy is dead and 40K is still going strong, I hope that one day they'll do a Necromunda video game. It could be sooner than later, as GW's specialist games are coming back this year.

Incoming Deathwatch (military order[Chamber Militant] of the Ordo Xenos) boardgame. The mentioned space marine chapter will battle nothing less than a Genestealer Cult of all things.

Among them a mongol contemporary of the Khan of Khans and INRI Himself.

'My mother was a genestealer she stole my blue, blue genes. My father was a fourth gen hybrid down in New Orleans.'

I really like the old-school vibe of genestealer cult minis, they've really captured the spirit of Bob Olley's classic sculpts. There will apparently also be rules to use both the Cult and the Deatwatch marines in regular 40K, which gives the box extra value.

There will be rules for Deathwatch formation in next White Dwarf.

Blood Bowl has had a Facebook page for a while, link. I was happy to find out it is available to people who are not members.

Pics of Orcs and Chaos Dorfs among other things. Chaos Dorfs look Forge World made, shame about the helms though. Hopefully there are customization options.

By the way did anyone purchase an anniversary Space Marine?

It's rules are downright broken (Pay2Win much?) but I like the figure itself. Would make a great Exodus for my Alpha Legion. The price tough...

GW miniatures represent one of the very few realms where it could actually make financial sense to buy a 3D printer instead...

In the future maybe. Right now a commercial 3D printers are for shit, but generally I agree.

GW’s Chairman Steps Down
From the comments on the bells of lost soul page
Huh...the Company(GW, not Weyland-Yutani) has like doubled everything in 12 months. Why step down now? What does he know that we don't?
Was 8th a secret failure? Some hidden budget wasn't recouped? Stores are closing as the fanbase becomes more concentrated? Subject-X escaped the Nevada testing labs and Marvel didn't make a movie about it?

Kirby was the idiot non-gamer who used to be CEO until about 2 years ago, when he stepped down. He was the one who infamously made the comment about GW being a model company, not a rules company. Kevin Roundtree, the current CEO & former CFO took his place, and it's been under Roundtree (who is himself a gamer) that GW has turned around it's image and profitability in the past 2 years. Kirby has been holding an advisory role since he stepped down, and from all reports, has barely been active in that role. He was a horrible CEO, and has probably been a pretty worthless advisor, so his stepping away completely now is pretty much a non-issue, and way past time.

It looks like the last obstacle to a new era of overpriced incline has been removed.
