Looks very interesting! I hope it's turn-based but I suppose I'll settle for RTwP (which is more likely) - as long as it's not a Diablo clone.

Is there still hope for turn-based, or the evil wiped it too ?
I don't think there is. It seems to be using PoE engine and they said on Steam page classic RPG combat, I think turn based would have been mention specifically. Classic means IE games era in this day and age.

I am pleased Obsidian are finally working on another RPG.

There were only so many disappointing announcements about card games that I could take.

Would be nice to know who the directors, producers and writers are.

Meh. There might be something in the "evil won" concept, but overall this doesn't look or sound very interesting.

Looks good enough for me. Really, anything top-down looks good enough for me - except maybe Vogel's games.

Hopefully it will be less boring than POE. I don't share Codex' obsession with Sawyer's obsession; POE wasn't bad, just tedious and boring.

Hey, isn't this kind of theme something Avellone always wanted to work on? Shame it's only getting underway now.

Anyway, if it's RTwP you can count me out.

What's important is this- if you decide to play as the henchman of Sauron, do you get to tastefully rape people? Because if you can't and/or kill kids, what is even the point?

Divinity: Original Sin 2 Bubbles In Memoria A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pathfinder: Kingmaker Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag. Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture

So it's like Adra... But not, because it's purple instead of green.
Completely original!

Anyhow:

Will wait for the inevitable DLC's, bazillion patches and release of the Ultimate Complete Enhanced Director's Edition Cut before considering it.

It being tedious and boring pretty much IS Codex' obsession with PoE.
Sawyerite obsessive focus on balance and no wrong simply attributed to the boredom.

Tyranny sounds like it will have a strong identity, and is an excellent opportunity to showcase Obsidian’s world-building talents. I do wonder how far they’ll go with this theme when faced by social media and modern gaming press though, considering that even a silly joke on par with playground ditties (Zippy and Bungle were in the jungle having lots of fun…) met with backlash. To be honest I'm somewhat jaded the story will just devolve into the traditional hero forms/joins resistance arc.
