Well Endless Space 1 was uninspired casual trash and I still want my money back.

Buuuuuut... The things I've been shown from the sequel though do look interesting. My favourite part so far has to be its political system. I'm not going to consider buying it until I hear more from reviewers that I have some trust in, though.

Endless Legend was the best strategy game released in its year - if the devs can adopt the good ideas from that game and improve upon ES1, I see no reason why ES2 wouldn't be fantastic, despite not having played ES1.

The political parties idea sound awesome indeed. Reminds me of Victoria 1/2. Though I hope some factions cut away with it - no point for hivemind or absolute monarchic ones having such a system, IMO.
