The romances are probably going to be goofy/superficial anyway; I can't imagine Larian writing anything like Bioware's emo stuff. Most importantly, I hope that, like the dialogue they promise, they're going to be systemic.

Generally, innovative systems/pushing stuff forward is what D:OS excelled at, so I hope for more of that here.

this; they do good with systems and mechanics, which i why i maintain hope; plus, humour can also come to fit a romancing mini-game. Your fat/unattractive co-op NPC who dotes on you and tries to scare other potential "candidates" away in a funny manner. Your attempting to 'romance' an NPC who is a total, absolute bitch, with the appropriate dialogue lines to boot. Your ending up doing chores of the kind most of us (?) hate doing in RL, only we end up doing them anyway, lol..except ingame, NPCs mock you about it; It could work..long as it's like CB says: for the love of god, please no emo shit

I don't get the tier structure on this - $25-90 just keeps increasing number of copies and it's not until $125 you get anything physical in addition. Maybe it's just that I never pay attention to the physical rewards but this time I actually kind of want an ale mug. for research.

Well, re: number of copies, this is a game where four player co-op is a core feature, so do the math.

They learned their lesson. Physical rewards are a pain in the ass, so set the bar high.

So, should be funded by the morning. The big question is stretch goals. No mention of them so far. Will MCA be invited to write an area? Or as a story consultant? Will they actually mention the extra gore, extra nudity idea and piss off the social justice mob?

Soon see!

Romances are important, I just read a comment, where the guy said he stopped playing PoE because there were none.

The writers rolled their eyes at the merest mention of "adult mode"; I take that as a sign that they won't budge on that front. In our presentation, Swen stressed that the Elf was a Wood Elf and the Dwarf an Imperial Dwarf, so I'd guess that new sub-races will be among the first stretch goals.

"Er, wait... I have to move to Belgium?"

Most of their writers are in Dublin.

I know that was probably a joke, but in this day and age nobody really has to move anywhere to contribute some writing and/or feedback to a project.

Project lead kinda needs to be in people's faces. Bit more than a contributor roll.

Though inXile seems to be managing with remote leads on T:ToN.

Haven't been following the buzz on this one. Should I instaback?

Did you like the first game? If you did then you should probably instaback.

If you haven't played D:OS, I'd advise you to drop what you're doing and play it now, it's great.

We are dull elder adults with jobs and your backer information is completely safe at the old Watch.

Is that so? I'd think it would be a lot easier to justify data fraud if you have children to feed and a mortgage to pay off.

I hope the Watch is ready to refund those $431 if the Kickstarter fails.
