Decline The Devaluing of the Dumbfuck! tag

I remember when getting a Dumbfuck! tag was a special achievement. You really had to go all out on retardery to merit one. I was lucky enough to witness Volourn's second Dumbfuckening when this place was under the leadership of Vault Dweller.

Now it looks like Dumbfuck! tags are being handed out too liberally. DarkUnderlord and Infinitron have them now. Why?

This place is starting to feel like the Special Olympics, where everyone gets a prize regardless of merit. Is that the kind of Codex we want, a Codex that celebrates mediocrity? Or do we want a Codex where people have to work hard to get a Dumbfuck! tag?

Dude, a lot of that shit you're seeing now is a result of all the "betting" that occurred in the UT match between first Menckenstein and I then between he and DU. If you didn't keep up with those two threads then I can see how the whole thing would seem quite confusing.

I think we're soon headed for some kind of a cleansing where we go back to no brofisting at all, tags reset for everyone, and all previously-banned alts are released from the dead.

It'll be kind of like opening Codex' own Seventh Seal.

I hope you are right, but such casual treatment of the tag - even on a temporary basis - still cheapens it in my view.

It wasn't really a match. You quit after 13 rounds.

Shouldn't it be "between him and DU"?

The truth is, the Codex has been greatly affected by the Global Financial Crisis. In order to avoid massive debt and a posting deficit, we've had to inflate our way out through brofists and increased tag usage.

Sounds like getting too close to DU will turn you into an advertising plant or somesuch. DU is like the wand of wonders - random stuff happens whereever his gaze looks. :P

While i agree, it has to be said that his intentions were the right ones.

- troll you because a vast majority of you are here NOT about RPGs, but because you haz issuez and you need your fix. Your idiocy may not be wanted, but your kwa is. So you need be patronised
- devalue not the dumbfuck tag, which was an unfortunate side-effect, but rather the whole merit behind tag chasing. Because you are so fucking low, you actually did that. Repeatedly
- somewhere in between, motivate certain primadonnas to self eject or at least get a hint regarding the merits of self ejecting. One already did, and he was a big one. Sadly an influentially big one. Obviously hardly an achievement seeing him "go", because morons, alike sheep, need not much to be made to 'follow'. But an achievement nonetheless

It is sad to see someone like Kzero having a Dumbfuck tag. Sad for the site. Kzero hasn't changed. It is also important that some of the fucktards comprehend the issues behind this. Being a very democratic and of overly humanitarian a nature type of individual, my personal belief is that nothing short of an account nuking could help in this, but that is just me. If you mind this "devaluing" in the sense that i do, maybe you can do something about it.
Start by ignoring some very specific individuals. Can think of quite a few myself. We all know them.
