The Saga shows one thing: Never let random people have any influence whatsoever on your game. The whole Ruckus was about a (stupid) backer submitted poem, which caused a random twat on twitter to throw a hissyfit. Said twat had not a huge amount of followers, no important website, no influential friends, not a huge amount of money, nothing. The usual suspects at Kotaku, Polygon etc. were almost uninvolved.
I do think its frightening to see how much influence any asshole on the internet, regardless of aGG or GG, can wield nowadays and that is also the reason why Im personally so pissed of by Obsidians decision to cave in, because it empowers these assholes. Just imagine what people like TB or that swedish fag, with millions of followers, could do if they decide to demand changes.

There was not even a need for pressure. The guy paid $500, that by itself shows how much he is a fanboy. Then out of nowhere the dev he loves knocks at his door asking if he would kindly change that limerick because they lack spine(something they should buy with all that kickstarter money) to ignore some people. The guy change it simple because he didn't want to be the reason his beloved dev is being stupid enough to care about what SJR thinks.

It didn't, a few people tried to force how the new one is clever, but nobody cares and the only thing which matters is that they did change it due to some random twitter retard complain, and made an official statement how the original limmerick was inappropriate and a mistake in a 1st place. Also despite the popular support among the players and backers against it.
Also it would be a whole different story if the original limmerick was actually transphobic when it's obvious to anyone with IQ>80 that it isn't, thus the flame.

One person complained at Obsidian and then someone else tweeted that complaint to Josh (who is publicly a feminist, he backed the fem frequency kickstarter for anyone who didn't know). I could be wrong about the original complaint only coming from two people since I don't actually care enough to really look into it.
