Anything italians touch turns to shit.
Anything.
From regional accents given to characters because it's funny to the rewriting of the script to accomodate stereotypical bullshit.
It's a travesty.

Codex 2014 Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2
King's Field IV German

This is probably the worst localization I've ever heard.

The first few words are by the German gamepro journalist, the intro speech starts at 00:20
Also it's more hilarious if you are German

I haven’t touched a French-translated game in years. The last ones were Fallout 2 and Baldur’s Gate, and the whole translation (texts and voices) sucked so much that I never managed to finish them before I got my hands on the English versions. I once saw a video of lanescape: Torment in French that also sounded quite horrible.

Else on yet another level, if I remember correctly, Morrowind’s French translation was a great failure because those in charge decided to translate everything they could find, i.e., dialogs but also the various data fields and references, thus rendering mods for the English version completely incompatible with the French one, so mods needed to be made specifically for it.

Now that I think about it, the only game I played in French in the past 15 years was Beyond Good & Evil. That one has a great French version that I find much better than the English one.

Russkies must be champions of bad voice acting, because looking at this thread i remembered their cringe worthy localization of Resident Evil for PSX and while looking for clips i stumbled on two different versions none of whom was the one i played and they are just as god awful.

Sounds better than the original, maybe because i don't understand a single word.

Probably the worst Voice-acting I have ever seen in a game is in the german version of Metal Gear Solid for the PSOne. You have to listen to Liquid Snake to believe it.

I can tell its bad, but not bad enough to my German illiterate native English speaking ears to be funny (though some lines are so verbose and fast I wonder how the actor manages to breath while saying them as there's no obvious room for cuts, especially with audio technology of the time). Did have a good laugh at the way Snake's habit of repeating everything/spaming "What?" (Was?) is still obvious in a language I don't know though.

The general pattern seems to be that I can tell dialog is badly acted, but I can't really tell with the narrator/monologues (like the Kings Field and Freespace videos). Exception seems to be the Polish Mass Effect video, that doesn't yell THIS IS BAD ACTING to me. Don't know why.

That Tenchu cutscene is legendary in English, too. My cousin and I played through it years ago and we still impersonate that fucking noble sometimes (COME ON! COME OOOOOOOON! *pelvic thrusts*)

Also, german Liquid Snake sounds like an youtuber doing "voiceover" for a silent game.

It might have sucked for modding, but I thought the Morrowind translation was otherwise pretty good.

More recently, the Binary Domain trailer had a really nice southern accent:

I don't post videos, but i recall some half translated games.

Stalker french version has russian in it, but most main dialogs are in french.
Myth 2 Soulblighter, totally mix up french and english, both in text and in voice.
You can have two character talking with each other, one in french, the other in english, and they will perfectly understand each other.

PC RPG Website of the Year, 2015 Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Shogun 2 Total War had absolutely terrible medieval japanese speak. It was clear that the lines given to the boice actors were totally lacking in context

"sessha no meirei wa?" is supposed to have sessha as stressed, but the VA stressed meirei, so the line turned from "what are your orders (for me?)" to the rather rude "what are YOUR orders?"

The funniest line is when they sai "bai no hayasade" which means literally "double faster" which is a literal translation of the phrase "double time" in english, which doesnt exist in japanese.

There was also a bug in the first few months where soldiers would yell RETREAAAT when charging.

Not really voice acting, but still terrible. The Swedish version of Saints Row 2 had forced text translation. Voice acting in English, but all text, menus and stuff was in Swedish. So when you died you get the text "Du är rökt" and if you are
Swedish you will know how lame that sounds.

Then we have freaking Glenn Hysén in FIfa... god.
