Jagged Alliance: Drug Flashback

It showed some promise at the begining, but they really didn't make much progress since the first release. They just continued to work on sectors, and then added some basic stuff. Emphasis on some.

Oh, people are disappointed? Who would have thought? :troll: JA2 was a nearly perfect game, how could they possibly fail?

even if you were to compare it to Dink Smallwood, it would still be shit.

The mechanics are broken, the story is fed to you in a single dialogue window before you go shooting the bad guyz, it looks like shit, etc.... but most importantly, it lacks all the things that made JA2 fun = tons of guns lying around, the sweet satisfaction of wiping a sector, opening lockers and looting shit from sector inventory.... When you shoot someone in the head from point black range twice, they´re still alive - they can´t kill you of course, because the hit chance is almost the same from point black to 15 tiles away, so it evens out. Did I mention it looks like shit? They ripped of the entire UI from the latest fucking X Com, I swear the cover icon is the exact fucking same. Do not get this shit.

Lund can make all the promisses he wants, but if the game flops, and i'm sure it will, you won't see many content patches post-release.

Lol. The game is still in early access then. They just pulled a stunt to make some money. But they won't, people are really disappointed with this game.

Hmmm, I just realized you could say the same thing about their other game, Space Hulk....which did get lots of post-release support, and now an enhanced edition. Maybe that does work for them.

Went for a melee stealth build. Spent 10 minutes trying to figure out stealth mechanics. Failed. Managed to stab about 10 enemies to death with my knife while they missed me point blank.

Created a min-max ranged dude - almost went out of bullets in the first zone.

Game is EL BADO MUCHO. What a shame... :(

Looks like early access build, do NOT recommend. Maybe get it in a bargain bin after it gets HEAVILY patched. But at this state i can't really recommend it.

If they only had Cleve's massive talent, wit and gaping butthole to wink out more marketing Bliss. Grim-Alliance, it could have been.

So I put my faith in something unknown,
I'm living on such sweet nothing,
But I'm tired of hope with nothing to hold,
I'm living on such sweet nothing.
And it's hard to learn,
And it's hard to love,
When you're giving me such sweet nothing,
Sweet nothing,
Sweet nothing,
YOU-OU-RE Giving Me Such Sweet NO-OTHING

So, Full Control would release unfinished shit and maybe baby later someone would fix it. Who woulda thunk it.

I was getting confused when the game was beginning to show a tiny bit of promise.
It just could not be, with the stuff they made before. Turnbased shit is still shit (Frontline Tactics).
Now the game is what I expected (SHIT) and my world is in order again.
My day is made.

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Don't think we will ever get a good tactical turn-based game again. This is a bit like Xenonauts. I mean it is a pretty good game, but try the original X-com again after playing Xeno and you will come to the realization that all these remakes has been made in vain. Not one tops the original, and that goes for both JA2 and X-com. So there is no point believing anymore sadly enough.

That's an extremely hasty conclusion to draw, considering turn-based games have just started to be made en masse again.

Been 15 years since JA2 was released.
20 since X-com and 11 since Silent Storm. It's time to give up :)

Sure, but my point was that (almost) nobody was actually producing turn-based games until the recent cRPG renaissance.

Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit... I had my faith on this. Fucking hell.

Right? How is this even possible? XCom is one of most beloved and cricitally praised games there is and noone is able to do something similar? I remember playing XCom and crying manly tears, it was so so beautiful...
I think it's the game where I savescummed the most because I grew so attached to one of the characters after many heroic actions that I simply couldn't let him die.

Just like the post ww-2 period to the 60's was golden era of science the 90's were golden era of gaming........ now both are dead being regurgitated by the living corpses of today. Let it die, will the ghosts of the past ever stop tormenting us? Why do we have to suffer for the sins of our fathers.

This is foolish. There are plenty of good games being made that take their inspiration from the games of the '90s. Underrail seems to take everything right with Fallout and make it even better. Xenonauts, while not perfect, is a pretty faithful reproduction of X-Com (although certainly not perfect), and of course, we have Grimoire...

This game is disappointment. I don't like it when games get their capital based on comparisons with the old guard and then fail to deliver so spectacularly. I'm still going to hold out and hope for a new, great JA2-based game some day.

Yeah, this is a pretty big disappointment. It started out okay, I kinda liked what I saw in the beta.

Don't really know what they thought when they decided it was time to release it. In this state of all things. I mean, it's not the worst thing I've seen on Unity, the maps actually load quickly, and there are some nice things I can say about it, but it's just so barebones, and I don't know if they can get any customer graces now, after this.

They looked at their bank account. They screwed up and Early Access probably didn't make any money. It's not surprising considering that most of the crazies who'd invest in another Jagged Alliance game at this point (a game made by a tiny studio with a less-than-impressive track record) backed the Kickstarter campaign.

Even the Bear's Pit guys are unanimously 'meh' about it. That's not a good sign.

Looks like modders will fix it finish it, though:

Yeah, makes sense. And they didn't really make their case with promoting Early Access very well - could've added tons more videos and whatnot, but nahp. Too bad. It did look like it could've been good, with more money and time. Well, good for what it is, anyway.

Yeah, can see why. Also, compared to 1.13, or even with vanilla JA2, the gun porn here is really really lame. There's no way to browse guns at the store, the selection is quite shit (so far) and the prices are laughable. This would really be something like an extended beta rather than an actual release.
