And it's apparently going to be missing content at release. ArmA3 all over again.

Supreme Commander is my favorite RTS of all time but this spiritual successor to a spiritual successor somehow failed to catch my interest. I really should give it a shot but the Phong shaded globular planet map setup just screams gimmick to me. Like, if there's one thing a real-time strategy game probably doesn't need, it's an ambitious game structure / perspective change. Once you make that decision you either pull off Herculean feats of interface design (and merely avoid disaster) or pointlessly clusterfuck yet another entry in a genre notorious for overwhelming clusterfuck gameplay.

This reminds me, I should reinstall Supreme Commander\Forged Alliance and get back on FAF.

ITT change-fearing autists bawing about someone making something different for once.

Though it's not quite where I hope it will be, I still quite very much PA. Tactical dimension the planets introduce to the fixed 2D area and the ability to manage multiple different worlds is very interesting, imo.

The planets could be made to look a little more flat if only for the UI convenience, though. Surely it should be possible with a simple change of FOV or switching from perspective projection to a parallel projection mode.
