Syndicate is an action game, why would it be turn based? Only on the Codex...

Syndicate was sometimes too much of a mess when the combat started. I agree that making TB is too much but I think that what they plan to do is correct, adding some time dilatation for more precise commands was something that I always missed.

Satellite Reign is not really Syndicate anyway.
In Syndicate you could just blob all 4 chars together and start shooting everything.
But in SR you have specialized characters. Sounds more like Commnandos than pure Syndicate-style game.

Sounds like Fallout Tactics real time but with pause.
There was one game with living city and turn based combat. It was Paradise Cracked. Anyone who demand now TB should be closed in basement and forced to play that game.

These guys do the best KS updates IMO, and they also seem to be very fucking organized and informed - I really loved the one where they explained their reasons for choosing Unity assets for sound, animation etc etc

Here's what they said about the augmentation system last year:
I totally agree with the OP … lots of different augmentations that give the player more options to choose from… having said that i still think having a few levels of augmentations is still useful for players that cant afford the fancy augmentations… if you read the info on the screens in the augmentation video it shows a few ideas i threw up for different augmentation …one arm augmentation might give you the ability to carry more ammo where another one would stabilise your arms giving you better aim… etc etc … if you have specific ideas for what augmentations could give what bonuses let us hear them… we havn’t even started the augmentation system so anything is possible at this stage

And some recent images regarding the UI (placeholder and prototype) give some hints:

I guess this implies a certain degree of customization in the augmentations. It makes sense, since they said you could customize your playstyle (stealthy or guns blazing).

New gameplay footage, it's looking more like a 3rd person squad based Deus Ex in terms of missions than anything else at the moment:

As much as I like the new approach in this mission I hope there will be missions that you need use brutal strenght to beat the other corporations in the area. Syndicate was always about a skirmish, plus some additional objectives in-between. Still, it looks really good and feels like a genuine city, rain effects are giving very positive vibes. It's amazing that's still an early alpha version.

Think an active pause would be useful. The combat in that video was just blobbing really, since 3 of them had SMGs and only the support had a sniper rifle.

Looks like a modern commandos game. Very very nice.

I also like how the game looks. Pretty good job fo such a small team, Inxile should take notice. I do hope there is some variation in the type of environment. Everything they have shown so far looks kind of the same.

I think they should stick to their guns with the pause. Definitely design the game to be played without pause, then maybe add it on at the very end as an easy mode for the whiners.

So, do do units die in this game? One video made it sound it like you have a persistent party.

They said you could replace, recycle or reclaim lost "parts" of your squad members. My bet is there's a good chance of vanilla syndicate approach - no experience, your agents progress through their body parts' upgrades
