In another edition of their weekly "Sequel, Spin Off, Start Over or Stay Dead?" die hard game fans turned their attention to Wizardry. Two decided for stay dead, two of them want a sequel (they might be unaware of that but in actual fact all of them wait for Grimoire).
Chris Bowen – Stay Dead
In a way, they’ve kind of already redone Wizardry. They just put in anime characters, ...
...they just put in anime characters?

Charles Miles on Wizardry 8 Difficulty ( Editorial ) posted by baby arm on Sat 30 August 2008, 23:35:58 More info on Wizardry 8 - More info on SirTech
Wizardry 8 designer Charles Miles stopped by Tales of the Rampant Coyote to explain his intent behind the infamous Arnika Road and Wizardry 8's difficulty in general.
Last but far from least, Wizardry 8 was one of the last North American RPGs to be unapologetically hard--we wanted surviving each level to feel like an achievement. In fact one of our concerns about Wizardry 8 was that it might be too *easy, *as crazy as that sounds today. We made Wiz 8 much easier than any of the earlier installments in the series (if you don't believe me then try, say, Wizardry 4) and we were worried the long-time fans might object.
Anyway, I've always regretted that people had so much trouble with the Arnika road. If I were doing it today I'd do things differently--I might make it a bit easier and I would definitely put in a tutorial system that gave you guidance on how to survive.
If you haven't already, make sure you check out Jay Barnson's Wiz8 playthrough articles to get your nostalgia buds tingling.

Our Wizardry 8 review ( Review ) posted by Vault Dweller on Mon 27 November 2006, 20:58:32 More info on Wizardry 8 - More info on SirTech
New to RPGs? Looking for a perfect gift for your Bar-Mitzvah? Tired of posting "recamend me a good gaem!" all over the internet? Well, look no further. Wizardry 8 is a perfect gift that just keeps on giving. Don't believe me? Read this Wizardry 8 advertisement and tell me it aint so.
Factions. Your dealings with some of them can influence how you progress in the game, along with providing some different endgame slides. The two main ones are the T’Rang and the Umpani, who arrived on Dominus looking for the same as the party. Each side will have a score to settle with each other, as well as with the Dark Savant. Their missions range from diplomatic to covert to all out combat and will require you to investigate other factions and possibly exploit their weaknesses, then to report back. The final missions for each of these two factions will grow in complexity and one will take into account your past dealings with the faction that directly opposes the one you’ve been working for. One mission requires you to find a lost agent. When you do find him you’ll discover a plot that seriously affects both factions – but it’s up to you on how to decide. Do you inform both or do you continue working for one? Do you try to bring peace to both or will you keep serving your employers? They don't call it the tyranny of choices for nothing.

Robert Sirotek, the founder of Sir-Tech, has been interviewed about nothing in RPGDot's Ad Personam series of interviews. Here's an interesting bit:
RPGDot: If you could do any game, regardless of money and developing time, what would it be?
Robert Sirotek: Hey now, that might divulge my next big project ; )
Given the recent poll at Strategy First, maybe it could mean Jagged Alliance 3?

RPGDot Interviews Linda Currie ( Interview ) posted by Exitium on Wed 16 July 2003, 21:22:30 More info on Jagged Alliance 2 - More info on SirTech
Linda Currie of Jagged Alliance 2 (SirTech) fame has been kind enough to oblige a personal interview with RPGDot. Here's a portion of the dating session:
RPGDot: Your favourite singer/band and record?
Linda Currie: Favorite singer? like movies, I have periodic favorites until I wear them out? for instance right now I really like Coldplay. And in a strange twist for me have been listening lately to The Eminem Show. But overall I'd choose Peter Gabriel because there's so much of his work that I really like.
You can check out the rest of the interview at Tiger Beat.
For a good designer, I must really boo her musical tastes, though. There are 2 comments on this article. Click here to comment.

Robert: Chances are excellent.
Sweet.
