The DA Wiki reveals some information about new specialisation, spells etc.

<p style="margin-left:50px;border-style:solid;border-width:1px;border-top-color:#ffffff;padding:5px;border-right-color:#bbbbbb;border-left-color:#ffffff;border-bottom-color:#bbbbbb;"> Battlemage

Some mages specialize in spells that permit them to engage in combat from afar. Battlemages, by contrast, prefer to wade into the fray alongside their blade-wielding companions, close enough to read the fear in their opponents' eyes. Their spells primarily concern personal preservation as well as control of the elements in their immediate surroundings.

Specialization bonus: +2 magic, minor combat health regeneration

Exactly like Arcane Warrior except a bit different. Also there are new spells like Arcane Field (aka Mass Arcane Bolt) or Repulsion Field (which is like Glyph of Repulsion except it centers on the caster). You can see that Bio really went to any length to include some really new and exciting stuffies right there.

Evil Chris Priestly, agent of the damned, questions Ferret Baudoin, the Lead Designer/Writer for Dragon Age: Awakening about Sigrun the dwarven Legion of Dead survivor.

<p style="margin-left:50px;border-style:solid;border-width:1px;border-top-color:#ffffff;padding:5px;border-right-color:#bbbbbb;border-left-color:#ffffff;border-bottom-color:#bbbbbb;">Hey, Ferret — can you tell us a bit more about the background of the new character Sigrun?
Dust Town. The mean streets of Orzammar. That’s where Sigrun hails from. As was seen in Origins, Dust Town is an oppressive place where people do whatever they can to survive. Sigrun was no exception. She was an accomplished thief and unwitting killer who was eventually caught. She was given a choice: immediate execution or join the Legion of the Dead. She chose the Legion.

So Sigrun went to her own sparsely attended funeral and joined her new brothers and sisters in the Legion. Everyone in the Legion is considered dead already. And for many, the formality becomes actuality in rapid order. The Legion goes far into the Deep Roads, in places no sane dwarf would dare to venture, killing darkspawn by the score. Sigrun found redemption in the order, camaraderie, and time to be retrospective about her misspent life.

So she travels with her unit, knowing that one day death will claim them all. But deep inside, she struggles against the hard won street wisdom of Dust Town: “survive at any cost.” And that makes it hard for her to stoically embrace the honorable death that must great all members of the Legion.

And finally BioWare's Victor Wachter answers questions too.

<p style="margin-left:50px;border-style:solid;border-width:1px;border-top-color:#ffffff;padding:5px;border-right-color:#bbbbbb;border-left-color:#ffffff;border-bottom-color:#bbbbbb;">Why don’t any of my Origins followers come across except Oghren?

We wanted to tell new stories in Awakening and introduce a new memorable cast of characters. Thedas is a big place full of all sorts of exciting things we want to explore. The companions in Origins are still in the Dragon Age universe and possibly up to things you’ll see in the future.

Oghren was brought back for a variety of reasons. Most people did “Paragon of Her Kind” late in their Origins playthrough so even though he’s a great character he didn’t get much air time. A lot of folks loved him (not the least of which was the Awakening team) so we wanted to reprise his role and give him more time in the limelight. He’s a great addition to Awakening, adding levity at moments to otherwise heavy stories.

Oghren a great character?
