Computer Games Magazine has an interview talking about the various aspects of Phase: Exodus. Here's a bit about your character:

Computer Games - What can you tell us about the playable characters in Phase Exodus?

Konstantin Kapustin
- Actually, there is only one playable character in Phase: Exodus, the main hero of the game. He was just usual inhabitant of one of populated places on the Earth. I mean the called already Independent Station of Maintenance. Many years in isolation from the external world resulted in appearing strange quasiscience there. It contained an incorrect idea of the world and of the Station’s essence and function at all.

The authorities of the station represented the unusual mix of religious and dictatorial control. That’s why, where the main hero has found the historically true information about the station, he became an outcast.

That'll teach him.. errr.. you.. for snooping around in.. some kind of.. business or something.
